I have a better grip on reality. We will finish above Swansea.
You said: "We have a better chance of winning three on the bounce than Swansea."
Now you try to justify it by saying: "We will finish above Swansea."
You don't seem to realise that these are two DIFFERENT statements

Think the main thing which will stop us winning on Saturday is complacency. Sunderland may have the pressure off but they're bottom for a reason. Like Bob said last night, there is an eerie similarity between this weekend and the Burnley game 2 years ago this weekend so nerves and trepidation are understandable. However, unlike 2 years ago, we seem to be able to handle the pressure games (West Ham, Boro, Swansea) and have a manager who has instilled a winning mentality, especially at home. For example, if it was Bruce or Phelan for the Watford game, it would likely at best have been a draw. Mackems should not be taken lightly but anything like what we have done at home over the last month should be too much for them.
Can we put winning mentality in 101 with match day experience.
So we have a winning mentality but not away from home.
He went for a draw at soton. Now we have to go for it against palace.

I have a better chance of marrying a millionairess than Peter Saxton doesn't mean I'll actually marry a millionairess.

Southampton are a better team than Crystal Palace
we hit the post and should have had a couple of penalties so it's not like we didnt try
if Swansea lose against Everton then Palace will be safe and may ease up against us

Spot on.
The difference is Silva. He only talks about any game in terms of winning and you can see that in how we play.
I expect he'll approach Sunderland in the same way he did against Boro.

It was refreshing to see a proactive attitude in the Watford game. It would have been really easy to feel sorry for ourselves but his attitude and the team's belief got the win. Any manager worth their salt would guard against complacency on Saturday and make sure that everybody was focused on the task in hand.

Palace have the worst run in... but if they pick up a point somewhere. It would take Swansea to win all three.
Even if Palace don't get another point it would take Swansea to get those 2 wins and a draw (goal difference), and us to get a minimum of two points on top of beating Palace. Possible but not at all likely.
