I don't think he'll improve us. Doesn't have the legs or pace to play wide and he's hardly established in the middle as an attacking midfielder, and there the fact he's had half a decent season in the last 5 years. AJ shreds him to pieces on contribution and we know how AJ goes missing. Especially around 3:30 on a weekday afternoon
Giaccherini has hardly played - and when he has had any run of games, he's contributed so how can you possibly say that? As @Funky Dick says - polar opposites on the "football" front. Injury is the only thing that has stopped Giaccherini contributing more. http://sportwitness.ning.com/forum/topics/agent-delivers-good-news-to-sunderland-fans
Giaccherini is our most talented player - by a mile. He's a proper footballer - sees spaces, picks gaps etc. It's just a shame he's been injured. You don't have 20 odd caps for Italy if you're a mug.
Are you surgesting we have better players here than Ballotelli? He's not as good as he thinks he is and he's a ****er but he's head and shoulder above anything we've got. Giacc? Imo not head and shoulders but our best player.
No . . . . I believe that he's referring to Badontelly having '20 odd caps for Italy' but still being a mug
Wikipedia is a god send. I do remember him bagging 2 a brace against Germany a few year ago and looked and he looked a beast.
Sunderland look increasingly like missing out on midfield targets Stewart Downing and Marco van Ginkel, with the latter’s move to Stoke confirmed. http://www.sunderlandecho.com/sport...ut-on-two-midfield-transfer-targets-1-7353132
Happy to dodge the Downing bullet. Shame about Ginkel, though I'm not too sure just how serious we were about him in the first place! How the **** do Stoke do their business? They seem to have a good backroom set-up.
fed up with the town! despite their shockingly negative publicity they still seem to attract, on paper, decent players. You'd think that nobody would touch them with a bargepole. Just goes to show that unless we shift up the league by a notch or two, the town will always be a more attractive proposition for any unsuspecting foreigner.
Teams all over Europe are frustrated they can't sign anybody because players are holding out for a move to the premiership. On top of that Dick is saying Europe's teams are hiking up prices for English teams. So there's loads of quality to be had, getting the price down is the hard part.
Back in 2012. The reason we didn't move for Wijnaldum Lawyer: Lens / Wijnaldum unhappy From our Telesport Editors EINDHOVEN - According to coach Dick Advocaat was suspended Ola Toivonen last week against RKC (3-2) PSV sorely missed behind the striker. "Toivonen is in preparation really played well in that position," said Advocaat. "The cooperation with Jeremain Lens going well. Lens often pulls away from the striker. Toivonen sees and dives unlike Georginio Wijnaldum in point. Toivonen always comes in the penalty area. That's really incredible. The combination Lens / Wijnaldum hindsight was not a good choice. "
