Getting very worried now by the lack of activity. We may well yet sign several players, but my concern is bedding them in to the squad. Much was made of a great squad togtherness last year, and a lot of that was achieved through early signings and time spent as a group through the pre season. Late signings may not settle in with an already tight knit group, I would hate to see this unsettle the team.
Agreed - we could sign Messi but if he doesn't get on the same wavelength as the team in a hurry, he won't carry us. I'm pretty sure we won't sign Messi by the way......
Don't worry you said they have £10 million to spend think of the interest they are earning! 5 loanees more likley!
Another week ends with us doing nothing (apparently) to draft in new players and the kick off looms even closer. Please make my morning coffee taste better soon.
We cannot go into the new season with the small squad we have, one decent striker, something has to happen.
I'm not expecting any announcements whilst the manager is out of the country. That's not saying that we aren't doing any business tough
Yes mate, and I stand wholly by that statement. We have put in 2 million pound bids on a number of occasions so far. Just that the fish are not biting. We have a squad of just 15 players to start the season at a higher level. Of course we will need to spend a bit to get ready. Lansdown has made it obvious that he wants Prem football at the gate - that is a life long ambition for him. Presuming he isn't stupid (take a look at our new stand next time you are down that way), he will realise that will cost about 10 million in new players. He will remember the money that got wasted in bring home a bunch of iffy loanees back in 2010 If he doesn't then it is SL who is kidding himself
