Newcastle press are suggesting we'll rival them for Hamza Choudhury from Leicester this summer, as an alternative to Skipp. 23 year old DM is behind Ndidi and Praet in the pecking order at Leicester, with two years left on his contract. Presumably would be a loan.
I’ve always rated him. I’m surprised Leicester would be willing to let him go. I hadn’t realised he’s quite that young - a reasonable amount of experience for his age
More links this afternoon, a Bristol City striker and another Dutch CB. This summer is going to be relentless for it I think...
Yes, I certainly thought of Krul. I think Hanley only had two PL seasons for Blackburn back in 2011-13 and 10 appearances (5 as sub) for Newcastle, though mainly in the Championship.
The Dutch CB, Delhi, is another CB who can also play at DM so would seem to be another who fits the 'playing out from the back role'. https://www.pinkun.com/sport/norwich-city/norwich-want-dutch-defender-doekhi-7928654 https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/danilho-doekhi/profil/spieler/387047
Scottish Sun (which I presume is about as reliable as any other Sun Newspaper...) are reporting that Webber has been to scout Ajer with a view to an £8m bid. Probably rubbish, but the player profile makes a lot of sense, (23 but experienced, 12 months on his contract, in a league we've looked at before) and that price isn't too outrageous.
So SW had gone there and watched the guy, then told journalists that we are going to bid £8m for him? Wow, good business strategy.
Curious change in attitude by Everton if true. Has Max indicated a lack of interest in going there? https://sportslens.com/everton-turn...-as-player-does-not-fit-right-profile/350895/ Meanwhile, Connor Southwell looks at the factors that could be in City's favour during this window: https://www.pinkun.com/sport/norwich-city/connor-southwell-transfer-window-column-7932196
They can both do way better than Aston bloody Villa! https://www.birminghammail.co.uk/sp...ton-villa-transfers-buendia-cantwell-20481472
Choudhury link denied. https://www.pinkun.com/sport/norwich-city/norwich-city-hamza-choudhury-kris-ajer-7932830
The denial is interesting, given that no other denials have emerged for other player rumours. That may mean SW doesn't want to do anything that could affect the chances of another loan for Skipp. "Skipp's future remains a topic for debate, with Farke once again confirming that no progress has been made in their attempt to lure the 20-year-old back for another season-long loan this summer. His performance data has been of such a high standard that would see him rival Spurs current crop of midfielders. Jose Mourinho's departure isn't expected to have any impact on City's chance of landing Skipp for a second season. The clubs enjoy a positive relationship." Meanwhile, a bit more information about the Kris Ajer rumour occuring again today: "Ajer is a player that Norwich are aware of, although their interest has been overstated in some reports. City are keen to add another defender to their ranks this summer with Daniel Farke confirming that on-loan Burnley defender Ben Gibson completing his £8million move to Carrow Road on July 1. The Canaries have already been linked with a host of central defenders as their plans for the Premier League continue ahead of the transfer window." Here's a review of all the rumoured comings and goings so far: https://footballleagueworld.co.uk/s...could-see-emerge-at-norwich-city-this-summer/
McGovern has signed a contract extension, taking him through to 2023. Presumably that's to be third choice and allow the youngsters to go out on loan. Farke rates his personality and professionalism, and presumably he's still seen as value for money.
