We've lost to so many lower league teams over the years that I've lost count of who, but yes probably we did lost to Wycombe along with Oxford, Swansea (at the time), Luton etc etc !!!
How do we know what attitude to take when we don't have an idea who our own players are going to be? http://www.bristolpost.co.uk/bristo...t-in-efl-cup/story-29435336-detail/story.html
Teams like Blackburn are buying decent quality strikers for fun....Anthony Stokes from Celtic, and today Danny Graham from Sunderland, but aside from O'Neill and Brownhill we're still waiting for the action to start....... Sound familiar ?
We came out the blocks early and there's still plenty of time yet - we can start to get grouchy if we're still waiting a week before the season starts...
To be quite frank this is sounding very familiar,we are no where near good enough for a top ten finish. We need at least half a dozen players of good to top quality. Concerning.
we do seem to be missing out on a few that might come back to haunt us. the Colchester pair ... for eg
I'd hope that we have the necessary irons in the necessary fires in the background, which is what LJ has said, and I'm sure there are countless reasons why deals don't happen when people would like them to, but it's always a concern when other teams in the same league do business and we don't. If the club haven't learned the painful lessons of the last close season and that LJ, Lansdown and Ashton have mentioned scores of times, then there truly is no hope.
As always we are not really doing enough to show we mean business, and yet the pitfalls are immense, so let's just hope we have learnt from the lessons of the past.

As of this morning, 9 Championship clubs have made ZERO signings so far. 10 have made 1 signing. Blackburn are to only side other than us to have signed 2 players so far, and the only clubs to have signed more are Wigan (3), Barnsley (4) and Huddersfield (6). We have 43 days to the start of the season, and 68 days to the end of the transfer window. In short: Stop being such miserable f***ers. If it's the same come August, you might actually have a point.
To be honest Nick I was saying the same thing this time last year and looked how that turned out. I'm still optimistic that we will get players in but after last season there is that nagging black spot at the back of my mind that will grow bigger with every passing day/week with no new signing.
Sticking up for our principles http://www.bristolpost.co.uk/bristo...wage-demands/story-29436280-detail/story.html
So we'll probably be left lagging behind as usual then.... I'm not for paying stupid or inflated transfer fees, but even so. If we want to stand a chance of competing, or possibly even surviving in the toughest 2nd tier on Earth, we need to spend money. The start of the new season is just 6 weeks away. Not suggesting for a minute that we pay the sort of fees that were bandied about for Andre Gray and co last season but c'mon,

Good news re Reid As for Ashley Fletcher, it might depend if he's a Zac Clough type and wants to stay ooop North I guess. In which case Leeds will probably get him.
