Irish smash the Welsh, now Scotland v England. Close one I think, Scots to edge it.

BBC have had a clear out, Inverdale gone at last, after today Brian Moore will only do the womens internationals because the Beeb has so few England games and recognise that ‘home’ fans like a familiar accent as co commentator. Hopefully Eddie Butler will lose his voice soon as well. Hooray, today we have the excellent Andrew Cotter. The bloke with the dogs in lockdown.

Nigel Owens has joined to explain the rules, though he lost me at the first hurdle running through new laws to do with distance at the breakdown. I think.

Most predictable thing about this tournament is that at some stage Nuts will pay one of his rare visits to the board to tell us that Ireland don’t have a chance.

Interesting first round of games. A depleted Welsh side were thorn apart but not fully reflected on the scoreboard. I thought the Scot v Eng match was poorish TBH and full of individual errors. England just kept kicking the ball away, time after time.
France are rightly favourites IMO for the championship but I have a sneaky feeling we’ll beat them in Paris next weekend but lose to England in twickers.

Welsh sneak it, meaning, a draw in Paris excepted, there will be only one unbeaten team after two rounds of games

Ireland can’t live with the French line speed at the moment
Shaun Edwards has had an amazing impact on the French. Plus they have had a couple of outstanding players coming through at the same time. If Ireland can stay in touch the last 20 will be interesting.

This game should be over already.

But it’s not and it’s the French……bizarre stuff can happen.

But I don’t think it will, they really are very good.

they have a huge physical advantage and Ireland have no answer at the moment. Their pressure is causing uncharacteristic errors. They will tire. I’d like to see a plan B and Ireland turn the French defence with accurate kicking. We can’t just continue to try and bash a brick wall

****ing hell, decent start to the second half!

Great match, huge respect to both teams. French physicality huge, but a one score game, great spirit Ireland.

They changed it up at half

They changed it up at half time and won the second half. Big learning point tonight is that some things never change. French flair is alive and well but if you move them around the park quick enough, they tire. Ireland continue on a slow upward curve

Fantastic game, Ireland plated some superb stuff but France are seriously good now and wouldn't be surprised if they won the World Cup on home soil unless they choke again !

Excellent performance from England although Italy offered very little. Smith looks like he's going to be world class, excellent debut from Randall aswell. Youngs equaled Leonards record for English appearances too

France punishing Scotland, just before halftime Scots messed up a certain try for the lead and now two converted French tries later the game is looking out of their reach...
