I think that this a is fair assessment and as you say England (and Wales) are in the easier side of the draw and either could have a real chance of making the semi-finals:

… assuming that we (Wales) can beat Fiji, and that’s not a given …..

Scotland, Ireland and South Africa are all in the same group ….
I think we’ve had this discussion before, but the draw and groups are insane, and doubtless a result of being done way too early. England obviously massively over achieved at the last World Cup, and forced us to dream based on one incredible performance. No fear of that this time and we should focus on the real contenders.

Scotland could well come out of our group. A dangerous dangerous team.

It’s the group of death. On any given day, Scotland well capable of beating SA or IRE.
Here we go. It’s a tough group, but Scotland have beaten Ireland precisely once since 2013, and that was in 2017. So their ‘given day’ doesn’t come round very often. Likewise South Africa haven’t beaten you outside of South Africa since 2012. You can do the old trick of talking down your chances, but you well know this is Ireland’s best chance ever, right up there with the favourites. The All Blacks are good but not vintage and the French are the French.

Good luck. I reckon you’ll get to the final.

And then bottle it.:emoticon-0103-cool:

Are you going over for any games?

I’m not at any games…….this time.
SA are the world champions. Scotland prob top 3 or 4 in form. I think the SA game is a 50:50 for us. I’m cautiously optimistic about that. The Scotland game concerns me. We could play well against SA and still lose, pick up injuries and then face Scotland. If we come out of the group we then face France or All Blacks. A ridiculously tough run of fixtures. All this from a country who has never won a 1/4 final. Not playing games just can’t be confident of getting there this time again.

To offset all of that, I do believe we are the best team in the world at the moment. There I said it. We have 4 or 5 world class players that would be in any world 15 at the moment and we have another 4 or 5 that are heading towards world class. We have an abundance of top players. Right now I think we could take any team in a once off match, so yes, this is a great moment for us and we are contenders. But…….

At least the Farrell witch hunt won't really make much difference.
We're ****e either way.

Wish you lot stop your whining .............. try being an Aussie rugby supporter!

Every time l watch a QPR game, they start to lose, same went with the Matildas in the World Cup, l turn the tv on, they falter!
I tell you, every team l follow, flunks!
I'm an oppositions best lucky charm by a country mile.
I'm seriously thinking of advertising my services to our opposing teams each week, just to earn a quid.
I should be able to retire by the end of this season !

All starts on Friday with the monster match up of France v New Zealand. I backed Framce 2 years ago , but if I was putting a bet on now I'd favour Ireland. Can't see past either of those 2 plus the All Blacks and South Africa, anyone else winning it would be a huge shock. Scotland seem to be in a decent place and are playing some good stuff, the less said about Wales and England's recent form the better. Really hoping England can show some kind of grit and grind out some results, but the way we're playing we'll struggle to get out the group. The old discipline troubles are still in play , and we're missing alot of players. Whatever the outcome , I hope everyone enjoys it !
