This year just keeps on taking.Her writing for The Royle Family was genius,a troubled life and finally beaten by cancer after being born with it in the eye,and later having it in the bladder too ! 52 is just no age,so sad again. RIP Caroline.

Some of our older fans will remember John O'Rourke who sadly passed away Thursday. Played for us in the early 70's. Rest in Peace John

I remember him playing for us, but I also remember him (I think) playing against us for Ipswich. I went to the game at Portman Road in 1968 (a 2-2 draw) and my recollection tells me that he scored against us that day - could be wrong though. Tried to google it, but no joy on scorers. Bushman will know.

yes, I went to that game too. Crucial end of season promotion game. Micky Leach scoring in the last minute. One of his last games for us was another 2-2 away draw, the opening game at Swindon. Ironically enough we got promoted that season too (1972-73)
Yep I remember him as well, was at Portman Road for the Ipswich game, probably the first away game I was taken to by my parents, we were stood or rather they were, I was sat on a crush barrier, behind the goal, crucial point that turned out to be enough to get promotion via the last game of the season at Villa.......

The jockey JT McNamara has died aged 41. He broke 2 vertebrae in his neck in a fall at Cheltenham 3 years ago,it left him paralyzed from the neck down. He was a fantastic horseman,and one of the bravest people I've ever met. He leaves behind a wife and 3 children,awful news and I've been crying a lot today. The world has lost a truly inspirational man today ! RIP JT.
