On November 23, 2013 I enjoyed meeting Simon at the C&S accompanied by Finglas who introduced me to many on here (my now ex-wife said you lot were my imaginary online friends). Simon kindly got a small article about me in the programme for that day.I saw that very same pic earlier this week Stroller with Rollercoaster (Simon D) where you are. Great pics.
You may not like the accent but I like it that we still have regional accents in this country.. trouble is give it 20 years and they will all sound very different

Dame Stella, who headed the service from 1992 to 1996, was widely credited as being the model for Dame Judi Dench's M in the James Bond films.
She joined MI5 full time in 1969, and served as deputy director general in 1991 before being promoted to director general a year later.
She was the first to be publicly identified when appointed - and when a newspaper published a photo of her house, she and her family had to move to a covert location for their own protection.
After leaving the service, Dame Stella began a career as a novelist.
In a statement, her family said: "She died surrounded by her beloved family and dogs and determinedly held on to the life she loved until her last breath."

I didn’t even know she had written books, but I also forgot she was head of M15 so long ago, thought it was much more recent. Couldn’t name another one, including whoever it is now.TV presenter and radio host James Whale has died aged 74 following a long battle with cancer.
I didn't realise she was that old. I've read most of her books, they're quite good. RIP
Wasn’t there a bloke called James Wale who wrote in the QPR programmes in the 70s? Not the same person I think.TV presenter and radio host James Whale has died aged 74 following a long battle with cancer. RIP
