Former All Blacks captain and wing great Stu Wilson has died at the age of 70.
Wilson was regarded as one of the world's finest attacking players during his heyday with the All Blacks in the early 1980s, finishing his career with 19 test tries - a record for the All Blacks at the time.
Former All Blacks team-mate Murray Mexted was stunned by the news, having had a coffee with Wilson on the morning of his death.
“He was just his normal self, chirpy with a spring in his step, so it's a hell of a shock,” Mexted told RNZ.

Day of the Jackal is a great thriller, and The Odessa File a very good one. Plus Freddie was a contrarian to the last, great fun even though I didn’t agree with him on much.
I've read every one of his books that have me given me a great deal of pleasure.

Yeah was terrible what happened to him. Very fit bloke at 65 and suddenly unable to walk. He was interviewed by the BBC not long ago to talk about it and sounded positive about his recovery.
Very interesting bloke outside of football.
