He gave an after dinner speech many years ago at corporate recovery event I was at, attended by solicitors and insolvency practitioners. He started off by apologising for being late as he said he was delayed because he had to meet Brian Clough in the car park to pass him an important envelope. He then pointed at various liquidators in the audience and said “hi Geoff, hi Steve, how are you doing Peter?” etc. He seemed to know a good proportion of the audience who had perhaps sued him or his companies or wound them up. A real character, a sad loss.
