Going back to Bill's relationship with Sian Williams. After Wycombe won the Play Off Final during the COVID affected season a couple of years ago, Sian tweeted Bill and said something along the lines of "Come on Billy , what did you really do at the end of the game?" and Bill simply replied, "I cried"......

RIP to my very good friend Jackie who very bravely fought an impossible battle against pancreatic cancer, succumbing yesterday. She was a great support to me during a difficult few years whilst I went through a very acrimonious divorce and other problems, despite herself coping with her husband recovering from a stroke. She’d just become a grandmother for the first time (to little Thomas) but I’m glad she had six months with him. I’m going to miss her. Had a walk to a quiet country pub and am raising a glass of Moretti to her memory. I’m going to really miss her wisdom, empathy and forthrightness.

Finally got the chance to say goodbye to Jackie today at the West Berkshire Crematorium. The affection people had for her was reflected by the number that came to pay their respects, both in person and via a link to her native South Africa. A moving day. She’d have been embarrassed to have been the centre of attention, bless her.
