Yes, really sad timing. I think he scored for England against Hungry in 1982 in a 1-0 victory at Wembley which saw us qualify for the World Cup Finals in Spain. RIP.

That is sad news. Brain cancer apparently, which took a friend of mine a couple of years ago at 65. Really talented footballer at national and international level.

RIP Paul Mariner.
He was indeed a very good player in that Bobby Robson / Ipswich era. He always seemed a type of grafter that any fan would have liked to have seen in their team.
