John Hillerman - Dam good actor ............... rest in peace ole chap.

Higgins to Magnum:This morning I came to a startling and horrifying realization. Since your arrival at Robin's Nest, you have insidiously eroded away my sense of diligence. Security has fallen completely apart. The grounds are in a terrible state of negelect. This guest house should be condemned.
The estate is completely overrun with your good-for-nothing friends, sleazy clients and unexpected guests.

That's a shame I only recently saw him in an episode of DCI Banks. I remember saying to Mrs Ellers that I remembered him from years ago in Duty Free.

Rescuers have abandoned their efforts to save a dog who fell down a hole on a mountain in Blaenau Gwent.
Tilly the West Highland Terrier is stuck on a ledge 23ft (7m) beneath Mynydd James near Blaina.
Despite attempts to coax her from the position she is in, and offering her food, she has not moved and it is not known if Tilly is still alive.
South and Mid Wales Cave Rescue Team said the decision was made to halt the rescue on Tuesday evening.
Chairman Gary Mitchell said: "With solid rock either side, the risk of trying to widen the hole would result in significant amounts of debris falling down on her.
"This is one of the very few incidents in our 70 years of existence that the outcome is not what we would have hoped for."
Team member Jen Hill, who was lowered into the gap, said: "It was a very difficult decision to ask to be hauled back up.
"As a dog owner myself I wanted to be able to save her but unfortunately this time it was not the case."
Along with the cave rescue team, specialist firefighters from four different stations were involved, using a camera and a reach pole to help the rescue effort.

RIP

This makes me feel incredibly old. It seems Duty Free (which was awful as I remember) was in the 80s. I would have had Nigel Barton as his best known role.

Australian guitarist and AC/DC co-founder Malcolm Young has died aged 64 after a long battle with dementia.
He died peacefully on Saturday with his family nearby, a statement said.
Young will be remembered for his powerful rhythm guitar riffs that were instrumental in propelling the Sydney heavy rock group to stardom.
Three Young brothers have been part of AC/DC's history, including lead guitarist Angus. Producer George Young died in October.

Thank you for the music. I visited Bon Scott's gave in Freemantle Australia a few years ago to pay my respects and will visit Aus again to pay my respects.

Gutted, but this was inevitable unfortunately. So glad I got to see them on tour a few of years ago. RIP indeed <peacedove> <rose>
