It will mean nothing to you all...but our village vet Ian Paine died very unexpectedly tonight. He was only 50.
He was the kindest, nicest and intelligent of people. He leaves a wife and young family...
He was a real character, and looked after both the human and animal part of his practice. He made the final of vet of the year too.

Really sad...2016 has been a brutal year....please remember (this is directed at me)....life is very short...make the most of it

Just remembered, (unfortunately) many of you will have seen Ian our vet on television. The first series of Animal Hospital was filmed at the Hampden Hospital in Aylesbury, when Ian was the young vet there. It was Ian who mainly looked after Rolf Harris during that series, and became a minor celebrity, explaining everything to Rolf and taking him around

Not surprisingly, because Ian was such a nice person, he never said anything detrimental about Rolf Harris, to be honest he would always avoid the subject.
RIP Ian

By chance in a local Surrey pub many many years ago, I met Rick. Only spoke to him for a few minutes but a little claim to fame..
RIP Rick
