Well said sb - like you, one of the first British boxers that I can recall, alongside Henry Cooper and Howard Winstone.

In my view, it is more than likely that his profession played a major role in his decline with dementia.

Buchanan was the best British boxer of his era, a brilliant technician who had to win his title the hard way in other often hostile countries. Lost to Roberto Duran controversially and then saw Duran pull out of two return matches. One of our few undisputed world champs in a notoriously tough weight division. RIP...

Brilliant musician without doubt. Also his role in Merry Christmas Mr Lawrence, with Bowie, is definitely one of my favourite movies. Did some great work with David Sylvian too.
A real pioneer in electronic and electronics orchestral music. He always seemed to be experimental and keen to develop new sounds through collaboration.

Not famous but John Lydons wife, Nora Forster has passed away after a long battle with Alzheimer’s.

The song he wrote for her is pretty haunting and sums up that horrible disease

Awful, awful disease - my wife’s sister and her husband both died with/of it.

I used to see Lydon and Forster quite regularly in The Crabtree pub, which was by the river bordering Hammersmith and Fulham back in the late 80's. RIP Nora, a truly horrible disease.

Yes, l'm afraid so.
He wanted to expand his working base to possibly a hyphen or maybe even a line, but that was asking too much of him.
He was a decent dot.
Dot gave all he could.
He was a working man's dot.
RIP, Dot.
