Well said sb - like you, one of the first British boxers that I can recall, alongside Henry Cooper and Howard Winstone.RIP Ken Buchanan, lightweight world champion and voted by American Sportswriters as best boxer of 1970, ahead of Ali, and Frazier. One of the first boxers I was aware of and the greatest Scottish and one of the greatest British boxers ever. His son linked the dementia he died with to his trade.
In my view, it is more than likely that his profession played a major role in his decline with dementia.
