I’m not a fan of biography/autobiography in general but I do like Dave. I recommend Studio 666 (lots of it on YouTube) for his humour. It’s not subtle but there’s no ego there. Bet there were some good Lemmy stories in his book.
Got it at Chrimbo, and finished it recently, excellent read.

Would be interesting if there was a post-Taylor Hawkins chapter, they were definately very tight and I'd imagine his death would've been devastating to Grohl.
I've seen both Nirvana and Foos in my past, and we're seeing Foos next summer at Hampden - always a great gig, and excellent support this time too
Loved the story of him and Bobby Gillespie speeding around a festival site on mopeds/bikes (can't really remember what they were on!!)

Back down in London to see Ruby Turner at Ronnie Scott's this evening. Nipped into an old favourite watering hole, the Princess Louise on High Holborn to pass the time.
It’s still a beautiful perfectly preserved Victorian boozer with good Sam Smiths beer, but it’s deserted. In the old days when I worked round here it was rammed at lunch and from 5.00 with people from the local offices. Lunchtime drinking officially dead, in London at least.

Have to stop soon or I’ll be dozing. Major disappointment this morning was turning up to Terroni’s Delicatessen on Clerkenwell Rd, the best Italian deli outside of Italy (in my opinion) to find it closed for the summer, in a very Italian way. Highly recommended anytime other than August. Serve great food in the shop too.Looks like your on a long pub crawl Sb if you’re just prepping for Ronnie’s tonight
The Old Bank of England pub at the other end of Chancery Lane is another great old fashioned boozer. My wife and I went there last year for her birthday after visiting The Tate Modern and St Paul's Cathedral. The food is good and very reasonably priced considering its location.

Just spent 5 hours in the Imperial War Museum with one of the kids.
Found the Holocaust exhibition pretty moving, with its personal stories of those that suffered. Quite hard sometimes to see those men, women and children as individuals when you read such huge figures killed.

Absolutely ****ing brilliant. Great voice, great person, great 4 piece band. A ten minute version of ‘I’d rather go blind’ included about 3 minutes of her singing completely unaccompanied. Breathtaking.
Catch her while you can, she mentioned retirement a few times. And in this format if possible, not with Jools Holland’s big band. She’s good with him, but outstanding when her voice is the focus in a small room.

Openheimer at the iMax Glasgow Science Centre - breathtaking.
Must admit, I knew very little about Openheimer except his input into the Manhattan Project and I've steered away from the countless documentaries that are floating about at the moment, so found this very enlightening.
It's a bit confusing at times as it jumps around through at least three seperate timelines, but the performances of all the cast are superb. It'll be nominated for a pile of awards, and will win quite a few I'd imagine. Cillian Murphy is brilliant in the lead role.
Been a long time since I've been in an iMax theatre, but this film defo should be seen in one - the sheer expanse of some of the scenes and the sound accompanying them need to be witnessed on as big a screen as possible - this is not a film to watch on a ****ty 28inch tv in your bedroom!
