Finally got to see Gervais’ “After Life”. The best thing he’s done, I reckon, irrespective of what one might think of him as a person (and I sit on the fence).
There's a second series starting next week.

Yes, I saw that.
**** me, you own a time machine?
Do they make running easier, while maintaining the amount of effort you put in? I don’t care about times but would like to minimise joint damage, and it’s not worth going out unless I get my heart rate up.Are there any keen runners out there ?
My brother has just bought a pair of Nike Zoom X trainers and can’t speak highly enough of them. Fitted with carbon insoles that are meant to act like springs, make life easier and hopefully mean less wear and tear on your joints...all the while knocking seconds of your PB.
He says they take a bit of getting used to but he felt they helped with his stride and all in all his run today felt a whole lot easier and enjoyable. Adding to that he really did know 30secs of his per Km time (which is pretty amazing)
They aren’t cheap at about £250 a pop but if you like running then might be worth a shout.

Ok this is a bit wet, but....
just watching Great Canal Journeys with Timothy West and his wife Prunella Scales. They are travelling down the Douro river to Porto. I’ve not been to that part of Portugal and now need to go. But more importantly the love between this ageing couple is something to behold. She has dementia (the editing is very skilful, she is herself but has virtually no short term memory). Her adoration of him and his delight in being in her company and caring for her is very moving.
I have tears in my eyes. But I have also now managed to rub chilli in both eyes (see distancing/eating thread) which might be a sign of dementia in itself.

Anybody watching this tribute to (international) key workers thing with singers/ groups doing songs from their houses? It’s all meant well so good for them, but some odd performances. At least 25% of the Stones’ contribution was fake as Charlie didn’t have a drum kit and was playing an invisible cymbal. Michael Buble, who seems like a good bloke when I’ve seen him interviewed and can certainly croon with the best of them completely murdered one of my favourite songs, God Only Knows. Billie Eilish straddles the line between enigmatic and not very good. Elton John doing his best pub singer impression as I write.
This is quite fun.
Well **** you, it’s all to praise you you know.Couldn’t be arsed mate.
Instead I’m half way through binge watching the recent Fox adaptation of ‘War of the Worlds’. Much better than expected and a nice Anglo/French but to it. Plus I just realised Nick Cave and The Bad Seeds have some music in it so must be on the side of ‘cool’

Biggest personal loss of the lockdown is the cancellation of Nick’s gigs. I had finally organised to see him, which I suspect would be as close to a religious experience as a non believer can achieve.
Tell you who has done well on this thing, the old gits. Tom Jones just blown everyone else out of the water standing in his living room.**** the adulation.......just show me the pay rise (and more free cake of course)

Little Mix were also good singers, to my surprise, although I’m not familiar with their work.
