England have underachieved for years, even when they have had good players. Even Messi or Ronaldo would have struggled to make Wales any good when Giggs payed for them. Giggs and Scholes were both great players of their time. Both part of a very strong golden generation of players. Any great team is greater than the sum of it's constituent parts.
