At non-league level you may have a situation where a bit of determination is going to make a difference, but at this techncal level, you simply aren't going to notice. This is the reason why all these football fans have no comprehension of why players they think are great fade to nowhere, and players they perceive as lazy continue to make millions. An ounce of technical ability at this level is worth ten pounds of effort. If you do not show the required level of effort, you don't make it out of the acadamy team.
passion is one thing but when it transcends into agression its not necessarily a good thing which is something i've heard podolski suffers from. Don't get me wrong i would still want him but just hope he can control himself
I think Wenger will sort Pod out, remember RVP was a problem before and was a bit of a hothead, but he's ok now....
On the continent I would agree with you totally, but this is England where technical ability isn't the highest priority. Size, pace and power are key characteristics for footballers here. Its only now when our supposed golden era of players failed the inquest has started as to why and the way we coach kids at all levels has been highlighted as an ongoing concern. Only NOW people are realising that technical ability is the most important attribute of a footballer, most of the other attributes can be developed or taught.
Sadly, I think this is why England do so badly at the World Cup. Our team think we only have to turn up and "Want it more" than the other teams there.
Nope. That other story was not true, sadly. Here is the latest according to the telegraph. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/fo...ithin-three-weeks-with-extra-friendlies.html?
