I think that's one of the most naive opinions I've ever heard! The BNP were formed through the break up of the National Front, their definition of 'British' is a white person with white parents born in the UK and one of their aspirations is to remove all people that don't conform to their ideal from the country. Sorry, but you can spout on all you want about what has and hasn't been proved with regards to the BNP but we all know that they are just a 21st century version of the Nazi's and Nick Griffin is Hitler esq in his beliefs
Perhaps, but that's a different issue. Wasn't Hitlers Party Socialist, perhaps socialist sshould be stigmatised too?
Actually, you don't KNOW anything of the sort and in what you describe as naive it outlined why the opposite has more basis in hard fact, but as a libertarian, I'm happy for you to BELIEVE, whatever you wish. Just don't be so quick to believe the media, they're not always honest.
Just the same as you dont know that the BNP is a non racist organisation. My opinion of the party is not based on hullaballoo from the media, I'm quite capable of making my own opinions, I have read BNP literature produced by the party and I have attended a pro BNP rally and it is my opinion that they are a racist party.
Actually, I do KNOW they're not. Your last line is right, that IN YOUR OPINION, they're a racist party. That's fair enough, but in the opinion of British Law, they're not or they couldn't exist, or you have a different test of racism to the law. Having said all of that, in my opinion it's naive and narrow minded to label someone a racist simply because of who they vote for. It'd be like assuming I support them because I don't tend to pigeon hole people so readily.
They may have some racist veiws but back to the original point that doesnt make Wayne Brown a racist for voting for them! He may just agree with more of their policies that other partys. Nobody can agree with everthing a goverment party say, you just have to way up the pros and cons a pick the one you think might make a differnce.
It's safe to say the BNP is a dodgy extremist right-wing party, even if the racism is open to question, and as a person whos relatives fought right-wing extremists in WW2 i wouldn't like to see them taking over this country.
My Grandad was a real life Jones, he was forever saying 'they don't like it up 'em' and the like, towards the end he was forever claiming the Fuzzy-Wuzzies were coming to get him and he refused to speak to my brother-in-law after he took a job a Nissan on Tyneside.
Boothferry By your definition then, being a member or voting for Sinn Fein must therefore make you a terrorist. Definition of British is Of or relating to Great Britain or its people, language, or culture. That has nothing to do with being white, black, orange (Phil Brown, just to keep on topic), Christian, Muslim, Hindo etc etc If you are to create an argument then it should be based on facts and not opinions surely...we all have opinions and I personally would not share mine on this or many other subjects with a football forum.
