I never said we'd ****ed up fourth since I only recently started to believe we'd get fourth. However, I did say (and stuck to it) that I'd be pissed off should we not get a DM in January. Brod went one better though and made an already outstanding, experienced players that truly loves the club that man
After Torres [I said Owen wouldn't leave either] I learned a lesson and don't tend to get carried away - good or bad - on any players. I don't big up or put down but if I have a confession it's that I've still not made my mind up on Rodgers ..... I liked him, then I didn't, then I wasn't sure - can't deny his achievements but I don't know ...
I called Owen leaving. Like a few players before him including McManaman, he made it very clear he wanted to test himself abroad at some point. We'd just got a new manager and was embark on a new era that would take time, plus we'd had a poor team at the time too. I wasn't the biggest Owen fan so wasn't too upset when he went, what annoyed me was the fee! Torres leaving hurt me though, nearly as much as when Fowler left (I was truly gutted on that one). I rarely get names on shirts but I had a Torres shirt (still have but its stored away now). To say I wasn't hurt to see Alonso or Mascherano go would be an understatement they were both very expected.
Thought Sterling needed out on loan but that was due to attitude.... Thought Gerrard couldn't fit into this midfield playing this style. Thought Hendo was. Bit of a headless chicken on Duracell. This is why I drink beer and watch rather than manage a Football team.....
If we're getting things off our chest about Liverpool (Chelsea fan here), I said you were sh1t, would always be sh1t and at best might scrape a European place rolling in at 6th in the league. Not had to look up the league at this stage of the season to see your lot, in a very long time. Grrrrrr.
... But what about those who said Suarez should be sacked/sold in the summer for having a little bit of a nibble on ivanovich? There was some serious outrage!
Just feels dirty seeing you lot where you are. Every time I think about it, I have to go for another shower and scrub with a Brillo pad and bleach.
I was more gobsmacked than outraged- who the hell bites a Serb? Never called for him to be sacked/sold/shot though.
Erm.... I did say that, and if we miss out by a few points I might just revisit it 1) The Studge.....the issues I had (injuries and ball greedy) are still concerns but in all honesty he's blown my expectations right out of the water . I felt we could get better but in reality he's fast becoming the perfect fit for this team. 2) FSG.....just another bunch of cowboys? It appears not.....although we still may suffer if we don't learn to seal the players we have as top targets. Credit where it's due though. Judgement fully reserved until the final stadium plans are in place too 3) Flannel for sure.....appeared to have crumbled confidence wise to the point he'd never make it as a regular. Now the best full back we have fit 4) To a certain extent wee Joe too....hardly a shining light but at least now I can see how he can play within one of Rodgers systems. That's an improvement at least. No one confessing to the "not wanting Rodgers anymore"?? Come on....own up...... #amenbrothers
1) very well put and sums it up perfectly for me too 2) twat! 3) See number one but I'd put him above Enrqiue now too. 4) World class talent when it comes to pressing. not good enough in every other department though so must improve. Oh, and I didn't exactly want Rodgers. I wasn't keen or convinced when we appointed him but he got my backing. However, I didn't have anyone in mind really. I wanted Rafa back but knew it wouldn't happen.
Where to start I didn't think Suarez should/would play for us again. Gerrard was past it (isn't there a thread for this). Johnno was still a useful player (apart from yesterday, this has not been true at all) and Joe Allen isn't good enough .... oh nevermind
