Check out the Crouch header yesterday that hit the post...first time I saw it I couldn't believe Toure didn't jump but watch how much of his shirt Crouch has (11:16) and the ref never would have given that: I'd definitely put the Skrtel one in against Cardiff though as that was wrestling not shirt pulling
Kompany knew what was coming so he had a game plan to combat it and it worked superbly for him. Nor did Kompany take his eyes off the ball or go beyond shirt pulling. Poor example IMO but I'll give you it anyway since I said players that have done it more than once, when else has he done it?
The shirt pulling by Skrtel has proved very effective. Saved many goals. FairPlay to him but these are fouls and should have been penalised or stopped by the referees.
Welcome back Smiffy How's the Virgin? (broadband) Skrtel is a genius you're right and I agree that cheats should never prosper please log in to view this image please log in to view this image please log in to view this image please log in to view this image Very floppy your lot aren't they
Lambert admitted and the video shows Guzan pulling his hands back. Therefore he is making no attempt to play the ball. Fact. A direct free kick (penalty inside the box) can be awarded for tripping or attempting to trip an opponent, or for charging an opponent. Not being a mind reader I can't say that his intention was to trip Suarez, but since he certainly wasn't trying to play the ball then it looks like a careless charge to me. Penalty. You might argue that it should have only been an indirect free kick for impeding the progress of an opponent, but that would only be the case if Suarez ran at the keeper rather than the keeper charging Suarez down. You don't need contact for it to be a foul. A point people only like to remember in the case of two footed tackles.
I haven't seen it myself but apprently MOTD says no dive either. Please remove from the list accordingly.
Suarez beat him to the ball so he pulled his hands back in order to avoid touching Suarez, something he was very successful in doing therefor no foul, just a blatent dive
You're not allowed to dive or jump at opponents if you're not playing the ball, even if you pull out a bit at the end #rules
If they go for the ball and get the player instead it's a foul. If they don't even go for the ball just the player it's a foul whether they get the player or not. #rules
Although it was a vas foul, even if the ref saw it we would of only got a yellow card out of it, not that big of a game changer.
