He's playing now, thing is.. he is actually pretty good. But I don't think he will become a regular for us.
Everytime I saw him I play for us, I wasn't impressed. He was playing as left back which isn't his natural position so I gave him the benefit of the doubt but he didn't do much as CB.
Tricky question as The best player may not have the best opportunity due to what we have in the first team already..... Goalkeepers - None of them, we need some better Goalkeepers, Butland would be nicve and he is from my town. Defenders - MClaughlin looks good, but my pick of the bunch would be Sokolic. Good with the ball at his feet, but very powerful too. Could see him competing in a few years. Sama also looks good, but I think Sokolic will prove to be better. Midfielders - Again we have a wealth of talent coming through: Adorjan, Tex, Pelosi, Smith. Hoping Coady and Roddan might be aded to this group, but done know if they are at the same level. All are good, but havent really seen enough of their determination once they become part of the fringe. On talent alone id say Tex. Forwards - Again a wealth of talent: Sinclair, Nacho, Ibe, Ngoo, Sinclair and Morgan. I think Sincalir has the most potential, but is also the youngest, so dont think he will be the next through. Ibe is very talentedbut there is a lot of competition for wide forwards. I think the next through will be Morgan/Ngoo as we are short of options upfront, dont think either will be long term options though..... We have loads of talent coming through the u18s aswell. Lussey, tricket-smith Hodzic etc....reckon we do need to find some good young defenders as Sokolic and a couple of others aside we dont seem to have masses of very good defenders coming through aside from what is on the fringe already.
Didnt you read what i said about the keepers? lol. Ive loved watching the reserves play for years on LFC.TV and thought I would miss it when the likes of Sterling, Suso and Pacheco stepped up. But they are replaced with equivalent talent and the u21s (as they are now) and the 18s are going to be exciting propositions for the foreseeable future as far as im concerned...Love it
3-0 to u18's vs Middlesbrough. Seen a couple of the u18's games recently and it looks like another promising youth team like the one that produced Sterling, Suso, Wisdom, Robinson, Morgan, Coady. Particularly impressed with Lussey, Peterson and obviously Sinclair
Liverpool u21s playing tonight........There is a lot of negativity floating about at the moment with regards recent first team results.... My advice is watch Borrells U21s and they will cheer you up. Dani Pacheco is playing tonight aswell...woooohooooooo Vs Boro I believe, and live on LFC.tv
Liverpool Team To Face Middlesbrough. Gulacsi; Sokolik, Sama, Wilson, Smith; Coady, Roddan; Morgan, Adorjan, Pacheco; Ngoo. SUBS: Ward, McLaughlin, Pelosi, Nacho, Ibe. Decent looking team to take on the 'Boro. A 4-2-3-1 formation with Danny Wilson getting a chance in the centre-back position and not the left-back position. Pacheco also starts with Morgan once again on the right-hand side of the three in behind N'Goo.
Middlesbrough Team To Face Liverpool. Ripley; Bennett, Halliday, Dolan, Oliver; Burgess, Fowler, Smallwood, Park; Kneeshaw, Sirrell. SUBS: Waters, Montgomery, Rivers, Edwards, Brobbel Another decent looking side. A few of the players in the 'Boro team tonight have played first-team football for the 'Boro including Ripley, Smallwood & Park. Should be a good game!
And we've got a goal! Pacheco with a cheeky little backheel into Adam Morgan who collects the ball, goes round Ripley in the 'Boro goal & slots it home. 1-0 Liverpool. Goal comes just before half-time and we go into the break leading the game.
Full-Time: Middlesbrough Under 21's 0-1 Liverpool Under 21's. So, another win for the Under 21's and that maintains our unbeaten start to the season. By all accounts, we were good in the first-half and got that all important goal. Lovely backheel by Pacheco, into Morgan, who rounded the 'keeper and slotted the ball home. Weren't as good in the second half but held on to collect the three points. - Here is the match report from the Liverpool website. All in all, a good night's work from the Under 21's.
Anyone watching the 2nd half? Managed to catch some of the first half and it finished 1-1. Any updates would be great.
