Liverpool reserves playing this afternoon against USA U20s.... Some interesting thoughts and questions.: 1. Due to many of the reserves being in the states, will be a good opportunity to see some of the U18s in action perhaps.....Nacho, Sinclair, Tex etc 2. See how younger players compete with an international side a few years older. Be good for their physical game. 3. Wonder who Bluff will be supporting? Unfortunately its behins close doors, i dont know if that means you cant turn upto watch but will be filmed.......Or just no coverage at all... Hope their will be some Highlights
The reserves started their pre-season well with a 4-2 victory over the USA u20s. Ngoo, Pelosi, Silva and Hodzic all got goals. here is a bit more infor from LFC.com http://www.liverpoolfc.com/news/latest-news/ngoo-on-target-as-reds-beat-usa
ya that age range from u19-23 isn't our best ( didn't qualify for Olympics) but the u-17 crop that pelosi is a part of is pretty good, just need to mature a bit more, they have the technical side but need to understand the game better.
i dont think our 19-23 year olds are that bad......Henderson would have been in the Olympics if not for him being in Engalnd team...Same for kelly....Like robinson and Flanno......Coates will be class........Pacheco looking to givehis all, (see new article on LFC.) Shelvey. But i do agree that the 17-18 year olds have more potential: Sterling, Suso, pelosi, Texeira ,Jerome Sinclair, Ibe (maybe) etc etc... Future of youth looks good
I meant the US! But the same for LFC though, you have the sprinkles of good talent in the older reserves but the youth is where we are seeing some better prospects coming through.
Hahaha....I think it was where you said qualify for the olympics, as I was expecting a few more of our boys, (Sterling and such to get in...lol) Hopefully there will be some highlights on lf.tv......There are not any tonight though, which is a bit pap.......Now that Suso and Sterling are going to be jumping the gap to first team.......(I think Rogers will use both a fair amount this season.) I want to see who the next guys to get excited about are.......
For those of you who cannot be bothered to click the link provided by Redbrynner, here is the match report for the reserves 4-2 victory over Amercia's Under 20's. Good start to the pre-season campaign for the reserve side! Worth noting the excellent start to the pre-season campaign from Toni Silva. After coming back from a loan spell at Northampton Town and helping them avoid relegation from League Two, he played well against Exeter for the Under 18's and got a goal. He then played against America's Under 20's today and got a goal. Haven't seen the highlights of this game but the report says he played well. All in all, a good start to the pre-season campaign for the reserve side!
Nah he had a permanent transfer to Blackpool last season, and to be fair hasnt looked bad for them...Unlike Gerardo bruna, who joined them at the same time and then disappeared into their reserves.....Shame, he looked good when he first joined us.
I assume you mean Tom? He left for Blackpool on a permanent deal last summer. Was doing very well for them last season along with Matty Phillips on the wings. Think we did a compensation deal with Blackpool. If I remember correctly, he turned down a deal with us and left to play football week in, week out which he didn't look like getting last summer.
Tom Ince He went on loan to Blackpool last season. He played 36 games and bagged 7 goals. He is twenty years old now and I can't see him making it with us Edit: my mistake. He went on loan to Notts County in 2010-11, he joined Blackpool permanently last summer
Its good to see that even with the likes of Suso, Sterling etc taken out, they can still play good football....Never heard of this Armin Hodzic before.....Im going to getting digging on him.
Fair enough then. He made a top 10 play over here during that time btw! A mazy run and had a boy tripping over and scored, we love it when ankles get broke round these parts.
Just seen the Hodzic and Silva goals...Both very well taken. Hodzic's was a lovely deft chip over the keeper. Watched it on LFC, not full highlights, just a news report
If anyone wants them, here are the highlights of the goals:
So for our second, how easy did the US make it for us? here you go Pelosi dribble up no pressure and here is a 20 yard gap for you to slot the ball through.
