I'll stick my neck out and say we'll play Stockport in the semis, whoever finishes higher I don't know. Should we get to Wemberlee and play either Wycombe or Ivor's mob then I'll go for our promotion
Wycombe with a game in hand and goal difference will be ensure they finish above us. If we were to play either the two W's at Wembley we'll roll them over as they had lost the automatic spot begging.
Six points behind Wrexham, 3 points behind Wycombe and they have a game in hand. We have to play both of them. Until yesterday we were 2 points further adrift of both teams. But now, IF we could win the games we have against them, 2nd place might just still be possible. It's a long shot. Only one result has to go against us to scupper our chances. There are 3 rounds of games to go before we face our rivals. Lots could go wrong in that time. But it's still just possible.
Both of them dropped points last night - if they have further wobbles anything is possible! Just think of all those games we fuked up earlier in the season …….. if only !
Stockport are in a similar position, in similar good form, one point behind with a slightly better goal difference. There is an almighty battle for the 6th position. We really were poor early in the season, playing hoofball, The Valley emptying. A good start and we'd be up there with Birmingham, but at least we're timing our run well, but so are Stockport. If we meet them at Wembley I'd fancy our chances on the wide open spaces compared to their narrow pitch.
We're running out of games now, I think second place can be forgotten about. We need to keep playing well.
Well it can't be helped. The automatic spots have both been bought & paid for. We'll have to do it the hard way.
I'd sooner play the first game at home, go all out for a convincing win and make the away game academic.
I can see Wycombe dropping from 3rd. If we are to get 3rd I'd like to avoid reading but would fancy our chances against Bolton or Huddersfield. Same against Wycombe so if we don't get 3rd would hope stockport do. Then a final against Stockport potentially
I'm much more concerned about who's going to be fit. NJ tends to understate injuries to players. We'll just have to wait and see. With a full strength squad we can beat anyone; a couple of injuries to our best players and it's a lottery.
