If we win all our away games will we be safe? How many points would we amass with all away matches won and all home matches lost?
Plymouth just about down, stoke look doomed, derby not much better. Cardiff big win against Swansea and last gasp draw might be showing signs of life but also struggling, so as long as we can pick up even slightly we'll be fine.
Sheffield United, Burnley, Norwich and Sunderland will all be very tough games to pick up points. My concern is that if other teams around the bottom pick up points for the rest of this month and February, there could be a gap between us and whoever is 21st. It puts so much pressure on the squad for the last few months of the season and our league form under the new coach of DLWLWLDWL might not good enough. We really needed a run of form similar to Oxford or QPR.
So why did you bring me up? Just seems a bit weird when you didn't even quote me properly. I said if we can pick up our run of results even slightly we'll be fine, not that we will be fine as things stand.
Cardiff aren't struggling, picking up points and some from bad situations. As I pointed out yesterday, unbeaten in 7... I wish we could say that...
Yeah as I said, a couple of good results, but also still looking patchy. Didn't realise they were unbeaten in 7 though, that's a reasonable return. They were looking sunk for a while under their gaffer.
Probably the bit where I said I didn't realise it was now 7 unbeaten and that's a better return than I thought? One win in 5 though isn't amazing though even with the other 4 being draws - we have just as many points in our last 5 and we've lost two games.
QPR and Oxfords form would have been really nice to take us well clear but I really don’t think we NEEDED it. They’ve been incredible and QPR have somehow got themselves in the playoff mix. Fair play, I think our form might have to pick up slightly to really ensure we stay up but with the points totals other teams are getting - our form won’t be far off what’s needed. Hopefully the new players settle quickly to help us improve further - but the Stoke game is looking must win for sure.
I don't know why people are saying Plymouth are down, there's plenty more points to pick up yet. Never take it for granted 'til the end.
