84 mins: Hull Tigers use the well-known and often employed "joker card" which allows a second keeper on the pitch, Chester saving an almost certain goal near the line with his, errrrr..... invisible thigh forcefield....

Newcastle would be down to 4 players by this point...

I must report as well that Steve Bruce has lost none of his blubber mass since being pictured recently on a beach in Barbados.

    He's still a fat kent.

We might end up paying for that shocking goal difference.

True. Hull have difficult fixtures and aren't looking too hot, but really they have a lot more proven premier league quality in their squad and it's not completely inconceivable that they could beat a Spurs side who look like they've ****ed off to a beach already. Beating West Brom was an absolute necessity, it was the easier of the two home games. Now we are left with needing to pickup points on a trip to QPR, which sounds fun and games as they're probably already down... but I have zero faith in this team winning a game.

On the plus, although we are awful in London on the whole, the recent record against them is good:

    2014/2015 Sat 22 Nov Newcastle Utd. 1 - 0 Q.P.R. Premier League
    2012/2013 Sun 12 May Q.P.R. 1 - 2 Newcastle Utd. Premier League
    Sat 22 Dec Newcastle Utd. 1 - 0 Q.P.R. Premier League
    2011/2012 Sun 15 Jan Newcastle Utd. 1 - 0 Q.P.R. Premier League
    Mon 12 Sep Q.P.R. 0 - 0 Newcastle Utd. Premier League
    2009/2010 Sun 02 May Q.P.R. 0 - 1 Newcastle Utd. Championship
    Wed 30 Sep Newcastle Utd. 1 - 1 Q.P.R. Championship

Given Villa, and the winner of Leicester vs Sunderland will be safe, that leaves Hull, Newcastle and one other potentially shooting it out on the last day. If Hull had have won yesterday, that would have been goodnight, I reckon.

If Leicester win next week, we lose say 1-0 and then Arsenal stick 4 or 5 goals past Sunderland things could get sticky. Christ imagine if it came down to goal difference? Nolan sends us down with a last minute goal, dual chicken dancing with Allardyce with the latters tie round his head, pissing on Carver's stroke ridden and **** stained body.

We need more than a point. We could need 4 if Hull win both their games(highly doubtful admittedly). We need to beat Leicester for a more relaxing last day imo.

When Sunderland beat Newcastle on 21st Dec it started a slide that would see them defeated as many times as Sunderland were all season, what odds would you have given at that time

I reckon Hull's fixtures might save us. I don't expect us to pick up any more points.

I hate to say it (genuinely) but your game against QPR looks a lot harder now than it did before they got thumped by City yesterday - they were dismal and "owe" their fans something which might well see them put a proper fight up. They were always going to have been relegated by the time they play you lot but the result at City is going to get them to pull their fingers out.

As for the rest of the run in I can`t see us beating Leicester, Arsenal or Chelsea (maybe 1 point from somewhere - unsure where though), you boys will struggle too (maybe a point vs West Ham - home support needs to be "on message" that game) but I think that the ray of sunshine for both of us is Hull...can`t see them getting anything from Spurs or Man U - fingers crossed all round. I`d hate to see either us or you go down (we need the 6 points!)

    The only snag is Spurs.
Spuds seem hell bent on avoiding the Europa which may hand it to Hull.
Also.. Man Utd are now guaranteed a CL place so I can easily see them taking their foot off the gas for the final home game.
In shot.. I actually think Hull will get 3 points from one of those games.
