Yep this. I still believe my initial reaction to the bite was and still is correct. Ban him. Sell him.

Perversely I'm glad he's staying for a while longer though as he could give us a chance of 4th and I like that he ****s with other fans heads!

I agree with this. I want him gone, but also perversely want him to stay and be our villain. Can you imagine the amount of stick he's going to get away from home all season.....but in my eyes that's a good thing, he loves being the villain and the boos just make him play better.

Looking forward to the return of the nasty batard.

A couple of things: knowing what he's done before doesn't necessarily mean we accepted it so accepting his actions since he's been with us still falls into the same category - we knew he was a sly so and so who did what it took to win and that's exactly what he's been like with us. Unless you [not you personally] thought he was going to completely change character with us and feel seriously let down by him - which I think is naiive - then nothing about him has changed imo.

As to his disloyalty regarding Madrid - he left Ajax in similar circumstances to join us. None of us cared that he disrespected Ajax to join us so why the surprise that he tried it again? He engaged his legal team to leave Groningen for Ajax - see a pattern forming here? He's bit someone before, dived before, handballed before, wanted to leave a club to fulfil his ambitions before ....

And that's why my opinion of him hasn't changed from before he joined us, up until he leaves us. And why I didn't get on the love hate roundabout!

With regard to trust - I trust him to give 100% on the pitch, that's it. The baggage he brought with him, which I mentioned, included giving his all to win for the team and the fans but if a better offer comes along, he will take it - he even said this when he joined that his dream place was RM - was nobody paying attention?

It wasn't his actions on the pitch that makes me dislike Suarez. The race thing was a farce, the bite was idiotic (but did make me laugh).
The support we gave him was unequivocal, yet he turned and pissed all over the club and the supporters. That is what angers me, if real had made a bid and he would have came out and said then he would have liked to go, fine, best wishes lad.

But instead he acted like a dick for 18 months with 2 significant bans, which we supported him through and at the first opportunity pimped himself out for yet another bigger payday.

I know loyalty is in short supply in football, but abit of common decency wouldn't go amiss.

Let's be honest, the most that the majority of Liverpool fans knew about Louis Suarez before he actually arrived was that he'd scored a lot of goals for Ajax and had bitten somebody. The diving issue was not unique to Suarez. Many players use exactly the same 'techniques' week in and week out. Some players have gained a reputation for it eg Drogba but we have to admit that it is not a problem unique to foreign players. With Suarez the 'issue' was exploded by the media after statements by Ferguson ( now there's a pot/kettle situation after his defence of Ronaldo and Nani for the same charge) and Pulis (who didn't see his CB commit assault on Suarez). It really wasn't common knowledge about the Groningen issue until this Summers impass.

I genuinely believe that, because of the support that had been given to Suarez since his arrival, the majority of our supporters believed that somewhere within him Suarez would recognise and respect that support. Those supporters are not stupid. They know that a player will look after their own interests but they also expect some form of loyalty. The question of Madrid doesn't even come into it. Provided that the fee was high enough lots of us would have said thanks and goodbye during the Summer - and breathed a sigh of relief that we no longer had to live with his reputation. It was when he changed his tune and pushed to go to Arsenal for far less than the club valued him at that the break with the fans occurred.

Like you I believe that, on the pitch, there will be no problem about him playing to the best of his ability - as a footballer he's to child-like not to do that. But he is also a man and therefore he has to earn respect as much by his words and behaviour as he does by his deeds. If he thinks that the fans will love him purely because he scores goals then he is mistaken. He has to find a way to demonstrate to the crowd that he appreciate their loyalty and support. Until he does so then the roundabout will continue to turn.

Exactly, much more eloquently put than my ramblings.

The WC handball placed him in the running for biggest cheat of all time don't forget - most fans would have seen that but also if you're like me, you look up a new signing on wiki or similar and find out all about them.

I think it's a shame that some players, including Suarez, don't seem to want to re-pay fans support and let's be honest he's had it in bucket loads deserving or not, but I'm under no illusion that it will happen. I can point to Torres as hardening me towards what I expect back from players for the support I show them. I would like to think Suarez has realised his mistake and will think twice now he's seen the on-going support despite his best efforts to alienate fans this summer and maybe leave next summer graciously but he probably won't and I won't be surprised then either.

I have to say that I don't look up players when we sign them as I think that it prejudices my evaluation of them when they do play. So I really look forward to seeing if our new signings actually do come up to expectation.

I hate to say it (honest!) but I did sound a warning when we signed Suarez that we shouldn't give our heart too easily after our experience with Torres. I hope that this Summer's experiences have taught us to merely enjoy players whilst they are with us - unless, of course you get players who truly commit to the team and the club.

He was a complete **** about the whole thing but I wasn't shocked by it all - he doesn't think or care about any one but himself.

Frankly, I am getting sick to death of not being in the champions league! Keeping Suarez has put us closer to achieving that this season.

An overwhelming majority of players are bought to Anfield. An overwhelming majority leave and this we expect. There's only ever been a handful of players who have committed to one club, for us as Liverpool fans it's these players and the players who leave the club still loving it as much as we do [Alonso, Hyypia, Babel, Mascherano to name a few of the most recent players] that fans have the most respect for. Suarez was never going to be in that bunch imo. Having said that I would still like his departure to be well received or at the very least, better than it would have been had he left this summer.

As pointed out by others, we need him to help get the club back into CL, if he can do that it will go some way to erasing some of the not so good memories we have of him.

Let's not forget Gerrard put in a transfer request during a dark period for him, lack of loyalty .... ?
