Dont see the problem. Simply highlighting the pathetic nature of modern society. More please until something changes.
Sorry re my ignorance but why did they chant that at Danny Murphy? Only asking as he played for us for a while. As for the article....**** way to make a valid point...
You do have to question the reaction of the media and the public. Not that it was bad, it was good to see such support, but how many young people die of heart failure every year? Several hundred? But just because this lad did it on TV, and there was good news footage, every man and his dog was obsessed with it. People sit there in front of their glowing boxes of stupidity and set their limited emotional states, based on what they see on it. People can have all the empathy in the world, as long as it directly effects them. Malaria killed 655000 in 2010, and the world carries on in total bliss, but send Gary Barlow to Africa to make a video and people cough up a few million quid to buy nets for beds, and then lapse back into ignorant bliss, as if the problem is solved. On the other side of the coin, you have vicious wars raging all over the world, but simply slip off the news after several weeks, as it is no longer news worthy. Do you know there are 41 armed conflicts in the world at this time? Some active since 1948! Yet the average Joe in the street will probably think there are 2, Afghanistan and Syria. When you add in deforestation, depletion of the worlds natural resources, extinction of several species a day, world food shortages, child abuse, slavery, rape... there is enough in the world to depress you 24 hours a day. So what I am saying is, we shouldn't care more about everything, but we should care a bit more evenly than we currently do, and not just have mass outpouring of empathy as and when the media calls for it.
What is the history of this fanzine? How long has it been available? It seems to me that they are trying to use sensationalist headlines to make a name for themselves just so people will have heard of them. Personally< I thnk social media such as twitter is very self absorbed and i dont subscribe to anyone.... I mean who really cares what other people think abou issues. If I was researching something I might follow one of the leading research scientists on a journal site. But who cares what a footballer thanks on the little intricacies of life....Just put the ball in the back of the net and shut the **** up. All i would want to see from footballers on twitter is: 1. good game from the boys today 2. Must try harder next week 3. Thanks to the fans Anything else is just money induced sense of self importance that allows them to believe that they have the credentials to be some kid of social commentator. In a similar way what is a football fanzine doing trying to make remarks of the development of social communication.....You make think you are the private eye, but you are not you are not. You are a ****ing football fanzine!!! Rant over, On the bright side, nice to see everyone agrees with everyone...
