Yes I think we can take heart and be encouraged from the way we defended with 10 men.

The red card; originally, I thought it was a fantastic tackle but having read a few comments, the general consensus seems to be that, after having made that, he kicked out at McLean and if that is the case, I must have missed it and a red card was then deserved.

The 'dull' tactics were reasonable I think because, had he gone and played open football at 10 v 11, I think we would have been out of sight. Up until the red card, it was fairly even - maybe shaded by you due to the extra motivation your players seemed to have. I still think a big mistake in our lack of attacking impetus was the decision to put Gally over Howard as the lone striker. But, as I said, you are a decent side who I expect to be up there. You weren't outstanding today but you produced a moment of quality that ultimately won the game but we didn't play to our best (certainly not attacking) and you got the advantage from the extra man to get the three points - patient passing tired us out but apart from that, it was two good teams playing under their abilities but with one piece of quality.

Christ I agree with OLM <yikes>

Bamba had an off day - Peltier ran out of steam - We allowed Hull to have the ball for the entire second half, the only surprise is their winner didn't come sooner - You cannot let any team attack you for an entire half and expect them not to score.

With Hull playing the whole second half in our final third we should have put Schlupp on - Then all we would have needed to do (when we had the ball) was knock a long ball over their back line and watch Schlupp terrorise their keeper - If he didn't score he'd have forced the back four back into their own half

This is the point i'm making.

Hull had the ball for 43 minutes of the second half and it was virtually a training session yet they couldn't score let alone make a chance. That's why I think they are nothing to be afraid of and I expect mid table mediocrity from them.

They even resorted to a pathetic attempt of winning a penalty which made me laugh <laugh>

Great effort from the lads today. Had we kept 11 on the pitch it may of been a different story. Schmeichel had 1 or 2 good saves to make that was it. Konchesky and Peltier impressed me. Peltier did a good job on Cameron Stewart who looked a good player but with no end product. 2nd half we was just hanging on and nearly did it but a good strike from Koren.

I didnt get a great view of the peno and red so i cant say anything. I felt sorry for Beckford as he started the match well but had to go off
