    The same could be said for most of the Mediterranean holiday spots. I love looking at those types of pictures when I'm abroad and admit to being slightly envious of simpler times.

    To achieve this kind of transparency, the wing is coated with numerous sub-microscopic tiny bumps that break light and prevent it from bouncing back from the wing. Eyes perceive colour based on the way it reflects light, so this special trait renders the wings largely translucent.
