Anyway, in 2013 when United last won the league, the average PL club wage bill was 79.5m. Man City, Man Utd, Chelsea all had wages double that and Arsenal was almost double that (just £5m shy). Liverpool were 1.7 times average wage.

In 1994 when United won the league, the average PL club wage bill was £5m. Man United, Liverpool, Newcastle and would you believe Chelsea were all double that. Arsenal once again almost double (couldn't find figures for Leeds or Blackburn)

I think it's best to put these random stats in context
