Agreed, you'll rarely get a balanced view from your average football fan. The problem is that you're frequently either on our board or posting crossboard articles not so much to talk about Spurs but just to tell us why Liverpool are better than us and try and put us in our place about the best we can hope for out of the season. I don't go onto other boards often so I don't really know whether it's something my fellow Spurs fans do but we don't get it from other fans, there's the odd Arsenal fan that'll pop up but atleast we're rivals.
If you want to eradicate the problem of Liverpool fans talking about Spurs, then maybe you should sign up for a forum that's designed for only spurs fans to debate on, I find it incredulous that you signed up for not606 if you don't like to hear negative things about your club, surely its part and parcel of not606? I don't understand why you feel the need to place all Liverpool fans under one banner either, why can't you differentiate between different Liverpool fans? There maybe a couple of them putting Spurs down, but that's not something every Liverpool fan does, so I think you should qualify your post by pointing out that its a small minority of Liverpool fans, not every single one of us. I would have Carragher over King, on ability alone, but even if King was better than Carragher, what's the use in having a player that rarely plays over 30 games a season anyway? Aurelio is better than Ekotto, but I wouldn't name him in my squad ahead of Ekotto, because he's not reliable enough.
Another trait of the Not606 Liverpool fan, missing the point. I'm not saying that I don't wish to talk to other fans, I'm just getting bored of Liverpool fans who see our board as another outlet to talk about how great Liverpool are. It's the repetitivity and frequency of it that gets me, not the fact that it's negative.
I'll generalise about Liverpool fans all I want after this: http://www.not606.com/showthread.php/81283-The-Big-Opportunity! And by the way, I didn't miss his point, I just didn't address it and continued how I see fit. I also didn't acknowledge what he'd said about Carragher and King
If only they realised that I was referring to the Liverpool fans who post on our board but as I've already pointed out, they frequently miss the point
You claimed Liverpool fans "frequently" posted on your board and made multiboard articles just to state how superior Liverpool are to Spurs, yet when pressed on that you dug up one multiboard article and claimed that was the article you based your opinion of Liverpool fans on. So what is it, Liverpool fans who posted in that article or Liverpool fans who "frequently" post on your board?
Is it so difficult to understand? Who pressed me by the way? And when did I suggest that I based my opinion on one article? It's called an example
ex·am·ple/igˈzampəl/ Noun: A thing characteristic of its kind or illustrating a general rule.
Surely, if it were an example, the sentence would've gone more like "I'll generalise about Liverpool fans all I want after numerous arrogant articles they've made on our board e.g http://www.not606.com/showthread.php/81283-The-Big-Opportunity" or "I'll generalise about Liverpool fans all I want after like this one: http://www.not606.com/showthread.php/81283-The-Big-Opportunity". You didn't though, you specifically pinpointed that article. Its cool though, you can generalise all you want about Liverpool fans, I'm off, I might respond to your rebuttal tomorrow, If I can be arsed.
In some ways you have to admire the almost fanatical zeal with which Liverpool fans follow their club. There is almost a messianic fervour surrounding the return of the chosen one. Unfortunately, for them, I think it will prove to be, yet another, false second coming. I would agree with Schteffen that their fans are generally amongst the most blinkered of all - especially when it comes to "King Kenny"
Why can't we just debate instead of arguing? I'm perfectly realistic about my team's chances. I'm a pessimist by nature. The best fans we've (Liverpool) encountered on not606 so far are the Sunderland lot on the opening day. Sound, realistic fans who didn't want to stake a claim to being god's gift to football.
