Very sad to see Sir Bobby depart. I was watching the rugby on saturday night with a Southampton fan who had actually seen him play (as I was at the Valley as a nipper, the opposition players I saw are all forgotten (anyone remember a Grimsby player at the Valley in 1974?). But Sir Bobby was one of the all time greats, and it must be great to have seen him in action.

His daughter lives at the end of my road and quite often sings in the bar there - better than her dad , RIP Mr Soul
His last wedding took place at Wood Green Registrary Office, North London. He was a regular at one of my favourite drinkers, The Jolly Anglers. A decent, down-to-earth chap who was always good for a yarn.
