Not long until we have evil Tories bring back bloodsports now
http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/uk-news/fox-hunting-back-agenda-says-5665629
Everyone on here who voted for them can be pleased with themselves for supporting cruelty to animals
Sick bastards
Would you like some more sour grapes to go with that whine?

Seriously, have you ever actually seen a fox, or visited the countryside? I would bet not.

I hold no view on whether fox-hunting is right or wrong, because I've only ever seen urban foxes and have little knowledge of the subject. It's amazing how many left-leaning people that have the same or less knowledge take such a strong position on a subject they know nothing about...

Rural foxes are the ones that get hunted mate.

If the Tories advocated infanticide you'd support it, Chaz.

And BBH 'left-leaning' <laugh>

I have really enjoyed this thread and would like to thank everyone, no matter what political stance for their contributions. I didn't expect to learn too much about the political machinations of our country from a football forum, but I have. Cheers all.

What he said! Well done to everyone and thanks Stan for skillfully marshalling it so well. This thread was was far more engaging and entertaining than the real election and it's build up. I think that there were a few others like me that aren't particularly politically motivated, but this thread bought about an enlightenment and interest to the proceedings. Good stuff!

What a stupid thing to say.
Fox hunting is all about upper class tossers getting pleasure out of cruelty to animals.

We've managed seventy pages plus with very little personal sniping. Please don't introduce it now with such comments, you're not doing yourself any favours saying things like that, Stroller.

It's amazing how everything is wrong for those who didn't see the result they wanted. I don't think that 'sour grapes' is too far from the truth.

I think its the method BBH is opposed to................you know, a bunch of chinless wonders on horseback riding roughshod over everyone in their path with a pack of hounds to rip a fox to shreds, in the name of "sport" as opposed to a humane and managed programme of pest control.

Can't say I disagree with him in any way, shape or form to be honest!

Of course they are. I've edited the original post.

Sorry, I was typing that on my new phone, whilst quaffing champagne with my banker buddies at the club, which distracted my mind a little.

And for those who can't recognise it, that was sarcasm. It was really a double espresso in my local independent java house...

If he was posting in a sensible, measured way, talking about methods etc, instead of labelling people as 'sick bastards', maybe he'd get a more measured response, tbh...

Please enlighten me Chaz as to which of the following from my list above you find to be perfectly acceptable :

Fracking - outlawed in numerous American States and in the home countries of the Energy companies bidding for licences to undertake it here, a tax on Disability Allowance or a lack of affordable / social housing.

I dont personally find any of these palatable to be quite frank.

I'm surprised there are any foxes left in the countryside, most of them are urban now living on fast food leftovers if our local ones are anything to go by...

Actually...............dont bother Chaz.

No offense, but this has been a very good thread and i dont want to be the one that ensures it just becomes a slanging match and gets shut down.

A result that worries me a lot for the UK, Europe especially, ( maybe I'll need a visa for Norway soon!) and the whole world which will be less safe. But a great thread, many thanks to all (you too Chaz) and especially Sylvio and Swords.

Fracking - the fact that oil is going to run out, added to the Eastern European situation making provision of gas less certain, means it's an inevitability and one we shouldn't ignore. The controls have to be far tighter than they appear, however.
Tax on benefits - last time I was unemployed, I claimed for about four months before getting a job. I was hoping not to need to claim, but I had to on order that my mortgage insurance would cough up. After I got a job, I was sent a demand for the tax on the unemployment benefit I received. So I'm not unused to the situation. Disability benefits - once validated - should provide for peole's needs. People that need help should get it, but people who don't need the help and choose to sponge or cheat should have the money removed.
Affordable housing - the right to decent housing is unarguable. The place that house is, and the size of the house, should be determined properly - so that the best possible value from the available budget can be gained.

Answer your question?
