Not had much luck with getting a helmet. First one I ordered was delayed three times so I cancelled it. Second one the company told me it was a bad batch and refunded me.
Got a click and connect from Halfords instead now. Just waiting for them to say I can collect it so i can go and stand in a queue for a hour!

Bib shorts will solve that problem. In summer it's best if you don't wear a jersey or a base layer with them

Can't say I'm bothered about getting one tbh.As I said above, I still play football and have plenty of lycra base layers from that. Anything new (base layer wise) will be things I can wear for both

I had a fall off my bike whilst wearing a helmet and the helmet was split,head was ok I always wear a helmet .What price do you put on yer life? not being sweaty could cost you your life.
Same, I cracked my last helmet in a crash, wouldn't have liked that to have been my head. If I'm planning on picking up any kind of speed and properly riding I always wear one, admittedly if I'm just going to to the shops or something and cycling very casually I don't wear one
A decent helmet should have pads in it to absorb sweat, or you can just wear a headband under it to deal with that
I'm wearing the helmet every time I go on the bike, setting an example to my three boys.
I'd sweat with a napkin on my head! Don't like hats, never have done. Can't even keep a hat on when playing footy whilst it's snowing!

Yep always wear a helmet regardless of speed can't predict what's going to happen.At the moment this dry weather causes rubber from car tyres being on the road and that can bring you off,I know coz it's happened to me.Stay safe people.

Went to get my bike out tonight and a flat tyre, couldn't find the puncture repair kit so had 4 bottles of McEwans Champion instead.
I'm sure, if you were really bothered, some of that McEwans could've been used as an emergency sealant
I just went to the shops on mine, got a six pack of Heineken, some GT85, a big botttle of demon wheels wheel cleaner and some coke zero
Spent most of this afternoon giving my car a wash as it was filthy, did the exterior and wheels, without the wheel cleaner ... tomorrow I'll sort the boot and engine bay out then do the outside and wheels again with the wheel cleaner, then at some point this week I need to do the interior
If anyone has any good wheel cleaning, scratch removal or dent removal hints feel free to share, I think if I want to deal with the dents it'll be off to the body shop to get freed of several hundred quid ...
I should also wash my bike as well
and take the buckled wheel to the bike shop!

I just tried the 'demon wheels' wheel cleaner on my alloys ... it's ****, wouldn't recommend it, maybe it would be ok if you just want a superficial clean to get rid of surface dirt but it doesn't shift brake dust, tar, grease or anything caked on ... maybe it'll be ok for my bike wheels
need to use it otherwise that's a fiver wasted

I washed the car yesterday. Had some little black dots (not flies) that were really tough to get off, had to use a bit of elbow grease. When it dried, I'd got light scratch marks on the paint work
Fortunately, they polished out (I say polished, didn't have any polish but fairy liquid did the trick) and it was all nice shiny in the sunshine today

The dots will be dried tar, it's a bitch to get off without the right products, you can get a tar remover which will dissolve it. Flies are sometimes difficult to get off too though
For cleaning you want to have separate cloths, sponges and rags for different parts of the car, for cleaning paintwork a clean sponge with plenty of soapy water is fine then a soft towel to dry and a microfibre cloth for buffing after ... I've done the same and put scratches on a previous car through cleaning in the past. They do buff out with some t-cut or wd40 and then a coat of wax ... I wouldn't put fairy anywhere near my paintwork or wheels though. WD40 and GT85 aren't ideal for wheels since there's a chance they'll get in the brakes and make them slippy but I find it's ok if you're careful and put it on a rag first
Didn't get out on the bike in the end, I did my alloys again with gt85 which isn't as effective as wd40 so I need a fresh can of that now - the gt will be good for lubing the road bike drivetrain though - then I washed the bodywork again. After that it was cleaning under the bonnet getting dead leaves and crap out of the crevices and starting to clean the engine bay and engine coverings ... back at it tomorrow then
When it's properly clean I'll have to check the state of the bodywork, there's a small dent in the roof that's clearly more than a buff out job, and one on the corner of the rear bumper, as well as a mark in the middle now from where someone went into it last week, that one's small but bloody annoying, as are the other marks since none of them have been my fault!
