Just seen this on Amber Nectar: please log in to view this image It seems the club displayed the 'new' badge in the first half and changed it to the proper one for the second half. But of course it's only the business side...
Actually he said AFC is irrelevant and the 'City' was common, and he's correct, but he's missing the point.
Just out of interest why weren't your two options; A. I want us to be called Hull City AFC. B. I want us to be called Hull City Tigers which may later become Hull Tigers.
He said City was irrelevant and a lousy brand name. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/fo...m-now-on-we-will-be-known-as-Hull-Tigers.html
How can "I don't give a **** what we're called" be the same as "I want us to be called Hull City Tigers which may later become Hull Tigers." ?? Come on OLM you're not as dumb as that. You know that you worded the options in order to stigmatise anyone who voted for the second option as people who don't care about the club's name. I don't think Josef Goebells could have done a better job.
Semantics. We either stay Hull City, or we become Hull City Tigers(or Hull Tigers), that's all the vote is. I think you can safely vote for the second option without anyone thinking you'd be happy with Hull Turd Burglars.
If it's such an irrelevance, why have half the posters on here changed their usernames or signatures to include it?
Why doesn't it? His poll doesn't include AFC Nick Thompson wants to drop the AFC and could use this poll to claim that most posters on here agree with him.
Look up "simpleton" in your dictionary. Then come back with a common sense reply ! If you nave a dictionary, that is.
You post about not abusing other posters, while abusing other posters? Get to ****. You didn't answer my question?
The AFC has already been dropped, it's gone, you want things to go further or not, that's the question?
I would like it to be known that I resent being called 'simpleton', you.....you......you......you character assassin!
Sorry but it's not just semantics and I think you know it. Your questions might as well have been A. Are you a loyal supporter? or B. Are you a ****? Anyway it looks like you got the desired result. Well done.
The most obvious point about the wording of this poll is that the second option is irrelevant. It is self evident that the people who don't vote are the ones who "don't give a **** what we're called." However, if we are to keep this as a genuine, meaningful and sensible poll, then I think it is only fair to say that the "Don't Cares" mean that within the context of something realistic like Hull City, Hull City AFC, Hull City Tigers or Hull Tigers. I doubt if there are many who really would endorse Hull Turd Burglars and to suggest that there are rather cheapens the argument don't you think?
Semantics?? The whole thing is about semantics! You've shot yourself in the foot with your poll options because people see that you are trying to affect how they vote because you are impartial. If you genuinely want to know what people's opinions are, rather than try to affect people's point of view you should be more careful with your "semantics".
I'm not sure why this is getting so complicated, there are only three potential names, one is Hull City, one is Hull City Tigers and one is Hull Tigers(the second two being lumped together as I know Assem's aim is for one to progress to the other). Now all you have to do is vote to keep Hull City, or vote for it to change to whatever Assem wants it to be(which as far as we're aware will only be Hull City Tigers, or Hull Tigers).
