My view on this someone should do a citizen arrest on the mccans for leaving 3 kids not only alone once but twice is unforgivable
I wasnt aware of the part of the mccanns story where they had left the children alone the night before the abduction and returned to an extremely distressed child. That is utterly, utterly callous, totally unforgivable, arrogant and selfish beyond belief. I have tried not to be judgemental when thinking about this previously - and to be honest didnt immerse myself in reading about it etc - but the more I hear about the parents the more shocked I am at how they seemed able to view their infant and toddler children as an inconvenience to be managed.
Yup. I mentioned once before how many times a meal out with my wife and kids was ruined when they were young but that's what comes with the territory. They would have been more than able to afford a childminder for a meal out with their pals. Still feel for them though.
I was genuinely surprised at the time to find some people I knew who, while not exactly defending their actions, seemed to think their choice re leaving children of that age unsupervised was in some sense reasonable or understandable.
Social services should have taken their other kids of them the minute they came back. Leaving 2 1 year olds on there own is stupid. Guaranteed if they were from a council estate the kids would have been taken off them.
This is probably true. Be interesting to have been a fly on the wall at the social services discussion around that which must have happened.
