Depends on what you are trying to do. Bring stability, long term strategy and remove debt to allow you to build slowly you can easily do it. Win promotion immediately? More than likely not.

Only one thing is certain - history shows we have failed with the current Methods and it's time to do things differently else we should expect the continuation of what has gone before

now ... as for the usual "who goes to games" nonsense ... I have followed Leeds since 1965 ... those who know me know Leeds is my true love ... I travel 350 miles to ER and back, get to most home games and as many aways as the ticketing system allows me ... I don't just pick Saturday games, but freezing cold weeknights as well, and not the glory games (ask Shaks, we had a beer after watching Leyton Orient in Lge One on a Tuesday night, my daughter was with me) ... yes, I sat in the stands freezing my knob off watching that clueless oaf Grayson preside over the monumental fcuk up of a 6-4 home loss to Preston ... I am a Leeds United Member, and I subscribe to the matchday programme ... I have cried at Swindon and cheered at Coventry, I was at Spurs for George Graham's last game in charge with my wife and kids, at ER when we almost toppled the mighty Barcelona in the Chumps Lge, and at the play-offs when fcuking Millwall made the late night drive home a fcuking misery ... I love this club, and I love it's supporters, the best in the world ... what I don't love is a very good manager who is trying his best to help us being slated for a situation that is frankly beyond his control ... too many players in our squad who don't give a damn and who are simply winding down their contracts in the knowledge that they won't get new ones ... too many players, just too many who know they don't have a future here, and that is why there's the 6-0, 4-1 and so on thrashings ... they just don't care

Elmo ... I think I understand your point about signing players for the sake of it ... too many have come here at the end of their careers and its hurt us

Billy, you don't have to prove or explain yourself to anyone, there are people on here that weren't even born when you were going to games. I miss those JPT matches...<ok>

Good post!

Who are the current players that "just don't care?"

I read this over and over again but I don't see names.

Who are these current players?

I think Clayton running over to Colin to celebrate his goal against us confirms your belief, Jonny.

Warnock begins Leeds clear-out as Clayton heads Elland Road transfer list

BySportsmail Reporter

PUBLISHED: 13:02 EST, 2 May 2012

Leeds midfielder Adam Clayton is one of six first-team players placed on the transfer list by manager Neil Warnock.

Clayton, strikers Ramon Nunez and Billy Paynter, defenders Paul Connolly and Andy O’Brien, plus goalkeeper Paul Rachubka have all been told they do not feature in Warnock’s plans for next season.

Warnock, who has made no secret of his intended clear-out at Elland Road during the close season, met each of his first-team squad individually on Wednesday and informed them of his plans.

Look at the date of the article do some more scratching around and you will clearly see it was written AFTER Clayton turned down his contract offer it is reported he wanted 15k a week it was debated on this very forum in depth, you were a member back then maybe you need some of those memory pills <ok>.

As for the celebration of course he was going to celebrate in front of the manager and say "see I am worth more".

https://www.facebook.com/leedsutd1919/posts/10150783905564437 if you want to see another debate as this forum doesn't go back that far

And yet he's still playing them,Hunts got to be one of the worst players ever, yet he gets in the team.Would rather see the youth team get a game than watch a player walk around the pitch doing nothing on £10,000 a week.Hard choices need making and sadly McDermott doesn't seem to be able to make them.If a players out of contract this summer and can't be bothered then he should be told go home, don't come to training don't come back full stop.Kebe should be sent back, yes we have to pay his wage for the next 6 weeks but no we don't have to have him at the club with his crap attitude.

Pff, the amount of times i have posted this is beyond belief, should save it I think.

Peltier - 750k
Kenny - 500k
Pearce - 500k
Austin - 250k
Varney - 300k
Hall - 200k
Tonge - 400k
Morison - 2m

And also let me get my disclaimer out, they are just general figures and I have also tried to side on that of the conservative.

So thats 4.9m in transfer fees alone. I wouldn't say McD has brought in more loans or even more costly loans either than Colin did.

Yes Warnock was forced to sell Snoddy. BUT Snoddy was sold after all of the summer transfers had already come in so Warnock was backed fully until that point and spent 3.5m in the summer and yet brought in absolute ****, the only thing that I will not blame Warnock for is our lack of width in that team because Snoddy was sold. He CHOSE to sell Clayton for very little to bring in the likes of Then he got rid of the top goalscorer to bring in an unfit incapable has never been, I get Becchio was leaning for a move away but the way that was done was poor to say the least.

chesh ... absolutely agree with the sentiment about sending the fcukers home, but it can only be done if you pay up their contracts in full and we don't have the money for early termination ... the PFA would slaughter us if players were banished, you'd be saying publicly "they are so **** we don't even want them training" ... would love it to happen, fcuking love it, and play the kids ... if only

Turn it around then, how much have we received in player transfers since McDermott was in charge?
How much is our wage bill under McDermott?

Compare those figures to Warnock <ok>

C'mon Ristac, you come across as a reasonably intelligent and well informed bloke!

Clayton's contract demands were unreasonable?

Just like:
- Beckford,
- Johnson,
- Kilkenny,
- Howson,
- Becchio...

To name just a few.

You really believe that Goebbels style poopoganda that the Bates regime put out?

I don't know or understand why you persist with this or where it is going or if you believe it's point scoring?

Clayton asked for a certain amount, Warnock or Bates budget meant no so he was sold fact...

GFH are as bad as Bates Fact

McDermott has a worse record at Leeds than Warnock Fact <ok>

I remember the discussions on here regarding Clayton you choose not to. Nothing else to say on the matter

Didn't every single one of those players move up at least 1 division when sold?
