Well, answering my own questionm and hoping to start a debate I would not be overly concerned by the league at the moment. I am not saying it will be easy at all and if we avoid the bottom three that will be a great achievemnet next time around, but I don't think that thee as many big geats currently as there wer a couple of years ago and all we need is three teams worse than us with a lot of potential candidates.
Chelsea are still probably the team to beat and Man City and Arsenal make a good case for the top 3 with Man Ure making the fourth.
But outside of these clubs is there that much danger?
Southampton and Swansea were a revelation this time around and many congratulations to them, but will they repeat the feat next season, my thought is doubtful.
Palace did exceptionally well but cannot see them challenging too much next term and Spurs have the Europa League to contend with which could suck the lifeblood from any potentially good season. Villa I think will also play due to the Cup Final appearance and this may give them great difficulty in avoiding the bottom three dogfight.
Leicester could be one to watch next year and may be top 10. Everton are uncertain and anything could happen but Liverpool ended the season in a real mess and look lost. I can't see us being turned over by them again, at least not on paper. West Ham started well then faded (like the song) and West Brom will be solid but unspectacular.
Newcastle and Sunderland are not pulling up trees and cannot see much to fear from them either and then Watford and Bournemouth join the party, to what effect is hard to say. All in all, somewhere around 14th / 15th looks a decent bet. Would you agree?
