On another note saw Pardew saying today that he was 'desperate' to sign Lallana when he was at Newcastle but the chief scout said he wasn't anywhere near good enough <laugh>

Surely we wouldn't have sold him to Newcastle would we?

Yep. Until he became much loved (then loathed) by Saints fans many thought him a little too lightweight to become a top player. Some regular injuries and periods spent on the bench may have tempted the club to cash in earlier.

Given the way he reacted to Anichebe not being given a penalty during the week against us, I will lose whatever respect I have for Moyes if he doesn't concede after the game that Sanchez should have had a penalty. Can't have it both ways mate.

This from the BBC live text page:

This game should be all over, but now Jermain Defoe, who has hardly had a kick all game, keeps calm to convert a penalty, sending Petr Cech, who is lucky to still be on the pitch, the wrong way.

Read the new rules dimwit.

But loads of managers do want it both ways. I question their need to see what they want to see. Someone like Steve Bruce will admit a decision against him. Plenty don't.

Amazing how many commentators and 'official' feeds still get this wrong
