If that had stood, they'd be riots on Boscombe pier! That was lower arm, NOT the shoulder!![]()
Andre Gomes on the Everton bench today. Great to see him back.
I've watched it a few times now, and its just so incredibly harsh. Both of them are shoulders, but the one that got the goal ruled out and pen awarded against, is IMO more questionable because the arm being stretched allows the ball to be controlled rather than ricocheted. But it was still 80% of the shoulder. My only hope is, we see this injustice happen to one of the big six. The ensuing riot would be hilarious!
I think they were both handball. The first one from the corner hit him below the shoulder IMO but it would probably have been allowed before the handball laws were changed. The second one that led to the penalty was more clear cut. It was unfortunate because the wind seemed make the ball move around in the air but his arm was sticking out at 90 degrees to his body.
The thing that gets me is taking play back for the penalty after Bournemouth had scored. This is one of the problems with using VAR, how far back are they going to go? If Bournemouth hadn't scored straight away the ball could have been in play for quite some time.
When VAR was first used in a game in Germany (I think) there was an incident just before half time. It was still being reviewed as the players came off the pitch for the break. It was then decided that it was a penalty and all the players had to come out of the dressing rooms to take the penalty.
Yesterday's decision wasn't as bad as that granted but there are signs that our refs are capable of it. It wasn't a good day for VAR yesterday.
Draw would be ideal.Arsenal 2 - 2 HT is that good or bad?
Not to be Arsenal scraped home 3 - 2
Everyones assuming West Ham will lose. No doubt they'll pull one out of nowhere and be the ones to beat Liverpool.
