Man Utd players are, rightly, angry with racist abuse aimed at Pogba. They want more to be done by social media companies, but surely racism is a crime and it is the police who should be dealing with it?
That said, it would be pretty easy to ban accounts reported for racism - but then Twitter would end up empty!
Curse the freedom of anonymity!I think that it is easy to ban accounts but this does not mean that they wouldn't reappear under different names or addresses. The other problem is that if the comment has come from abroad it makes it very difficult to prosecute, so something that sounds simple is pretty difficult to enforce.
