He might not even be a starter. I like James, but last season has still left some question marks.

Has it? I thought he came into the team under Ralph and was from that point on one of the first names on the team sheet, playing pretty much every minute from then on. His form was so good that even the media and wider football fans noticed and were calling for him to be in the England squad again. Over a period of 10 games or so he was the second highest scorer and assister in the league, behind only Mane I believe.

He had some stormers, agreed. But if he is not in his favoured position, then he is highly ineffectual. And then that starts the debate who plays in the middle, who is best equipped for a more defensive or attacking line up.
Like I said, there's still question marks.

So rather than stick with JWP’s proven value (,in the right position I’ll give you), you would rather spend unknown millions on Milivojevic who, as Magic says above, doesn’t really do much apart from take a good penalty, which JWP does in addition to all his other qualities?

For the record, I really rate Milo. No clue why nobody else likes him, looks like a really reliable player & good pro to me. And back on James again, has everyone just blanked out the last half dozen games of the season where he was totally anonymous when selected. I'd be surprised if he's suddenly first on the team sheet come the start of the season. We certainly can't carry him in the hope he gets to put away a pen, that would be daft.

It wouldn't be sudden as he's already there. We also don't seem to be buying anyone to replace him there.
The one game he wasnt selected to start was our heaviest defeat in those last 6 games. The other 5 include a goal and good performance against Bournemouth and a win against Wolves.

I agree his and most the teams form went downhill once it looked like we would survive though.

But yeah, We'll have to see what the formation is as well though as it's harder to fit him into a 4 2 2 2.

And I don't know what were doing with our problem of having 2 left wingers looking to start. But if we're getting a smaller squad Prowse is pretty guaranteed to get games due to the number of positions he covers so it will mostly come down to form.

If we buy a new RB there's going to be competition for basically every spot.

I'm really pleased JWP has picked up a load of die hard fans on here, he puts in a lot of effort & has a good attitude. But, I think you'll find come the start of the season, Ralph will have him on the bench. Personally I hope he's ready to bide his time & force his way back in.
I still would be happy if we had another competent penalty taker in such a crucial season for it.

Referees are to discuss how to use VAR this season, particularly for penalties and the pitch side TV review.

Any overturned decisions will be shown at grounds, where appropriate....

Have a guess which 2 Premier League grounds don’t have screens to show it to the fans, where it will just be announced ....

Yep. Anfield. Old Trafford.

I'm still not sure about showing it on the screens to be honest, can't see it ending well with really contentious decisions in high profile matches.

I thought they'd already binned that off?
