Finished 1-1. Brighton on 35, Cardiff on 31, 2 to play.

It’s looking more and more likely that my prediction that 36 points would be enough for safety could be correct.

Sheffield United have booked their place in the Premier League now.

(all but officially)

I really want to see Sheffield United keep that team together next year, just to see how a team of career Championship players would fare in the PL. Mentioned it before, but that squad is a giant Remember Some Guys from our time in the lower leagues, most of whom have never gotten a meaningful shot at the top level.

The key to promotion from the Championship appears to be having Oliver Norwood in your squad: he now has three promotions in three seasons. Has yet to play a match in the PL.

Strange situation for them. They need to sack CH, and he's one little bit of goodwill outsiders give them. They are in trouble next season unless they do some great business in the summer.

Like you say, we don't know what they'll do this summer (or any team). But at the moment they're the only PL side I see challenging the three promoted sides for 17th place next season (regardless of who wins the play-offs).

Although if Rafa leaves Newcastle, I'll instantly be adding them in too.

There's always the risk of Burnley dropping down due to how little they spend.

So, it's going to be Norwich City and Sheffield United replacing Huddersfield and Fulham.

Then one of the following - play-offs as they stand:

Leeds United v Derby County
West Bromwich Albion v Aston Villa
