I hope Man City are as slow and cumbersome against us

Yes, this has given me fresh hope for the final day.

Huddersfield's first half performance, where they got right in City's faces, gave them hope though. Gave them something to hang onto.

The way we set up under Hughes, I can't see us being able to do that. A back five, fairly defensive minded CMs, a very immobile Charlie (and probably without a partner). You can't press a defence with that system; pressing requires three, maybe four, players to hunt in a pack from the front.

The way we will play is how Huddersfield played for the second half. Yes they succeeded, and well done to them. But doing it for 45 minutes is clearly a lot different to doing it for 90 minutes. And, as I alluded, Huddersfield got themselves a foothold. If City get an early goal, that doesn't happen. You lose by 4 or 5 instead.

Bloody hell. Well there's a bit more pressure on Tuesday with that point.

Not as I see it. Tuesday was already a must-win for me.

But OK, for anyone out there who didn't think it was already a must-win, then surely they do now.

What it has changed is that Swansea are more likely to get relegated if we beat them now.

Exactly. That point was a lot worse for Swansea than for us.

It's only really impacted us in two ways, both of which very already very unlikely to happen:

1. We can't now survive by drawing Swansea and City, and hoping that Huddersfield don't pick up any further points.
2. In the event that we were to beat Swansea and lose to City, but with Swansea beating Stoke and somehow overturning the GD difference between the two of us, we would now go down if Huddersfield got a final day draw.

As I say, both very unlikely scenarios anyway. So hardly relevant that both have been removed from the equation.

A win on Tuesday for us is basically survival imo. There's no way Swansea will make up the goal difference if we beat them. Even if we only win 1-0 they would need to make up a 9-odd goal deficit. I mean, City is good but i don't see us losing 4-0 to 5-0 at home against what could potentially be a weaker City side and Swansea winning by 4 goals against Stoke also seems unreasonable. I reckon City could field a weaker side with the world cup approaching but I wouldn't put it past them to field a full strength team to achieve the big 100 tally. So here's hoping they lose or draw against Brighton to maybe avoid that <laugh>

with Cardiff promoted, Swans will go down. Quota system from FA. Hope Saints go down as well & Baggies survive somehow.
Darren deserves lots of credits and Darren's accomplishment will be right along with Claudio's miracle title win.

Shout out to Fergie to get well soon.

Why do you hope we go down ?
