Even if WBA don't go in the next two hours (no offence Baggies, but I hope you do), then there's a strong chance that they'll go in midweek.

I don't think the board have any choice now but to give the job to Moore. Even if, looking at what is facing them over the coming months, it might not actually be the best thing to do.

That last sentence needs more explaining. ????

Their finances are already shot to pieces, by all accounts. Losing PL revenue (and potentially being unable to shift aging high earners) will only make that worse.

Then you throw in their best players departing.

Then you throw in a summer transfer window, needing to attract new recruits (something which is affected by both of the above).

Then you throw in playing in a different league; one that can be incredibly difficult to get promoted from.

All the best to someone with no managerial experience. Craig Shakespeare did OK for a few games at Leicester, but they soon regretted given him the job full-time.

But it would take a very bold - and harsh - call to not give him the job.

Claude getting sacked for sure. He's just not a very good coach and got two ok finish positions mainly due to others being so poor.

Indeed. It would appear that the three sides going down are three sides who have been top ten regulars in recent years. It just helps to show that the difference between the teams outside the top six isn't that big these days, and therefore that an 8th or 9th finish - whilst maybe nice for that one year - doesn't really mean much.

Unless you can get yourself European qualification as a reward (like Burnley this year, and us and West Ham in recent years), all it really means these days is that you've been the least poor of the rest over the past nine months. And a little bit extra prize money, enough to buy you one leg of a back-up RB.

If Burnley found themselves in relegation trouble come Xmas, I don't think anyone would be shocked.

I thought he deserved to stay after last season and still think that, but agree that struggling with getting the best out of players at 2 consecutive teams suggests there is some problem. Perhaps he just isn't suited to the EPL and can't get his ideas across or get the players onside. Of course he may need a second season to settle in, but he won't get that if there is unrest in the camp.

West Ham go away to Leicester and spank them, cracking strike from Noble. Arnautovic has real quality.

I'd be quite shocked if they weren't. Who on earth is going to finish 7th-10th next season? Probably Wolves will be one of them.

Fair play to Huddersfield here. Yes City's minds might be on picking up the trophy after the game, but Huddersfield are pressing them high (in numbers) and are in this game.

Come on City, step it up. Score some goals please.

I don't know they've reverted to just slinging in crosses for this game. OK, they're rarely bad crosses, but they don't exactly have a Giroud on the end of them.
