This and the other post about how well Everton played since we thrashed them are the same as when the press go on about the other team being **** when we beat them.
It naturally can’t be we actually played very well against Everton and the same the other day against Utd.
Honestly, we all need to be more positive in and of our play, it isn’t as bad as is often made out.
Cue us lose tomorrow night now...
6 shots v Bournemouth and 7 v WBA too, for 1 point. They're going to get restless quite quickly.
Win tomorrow and we will be just 4 points behind Everton in 9th, we have to make our home games count now.
I didn’t say we didn’t play well against Everton, but you must admit they were poor as well. Ironically, Gylfi scored a worldy that day and he’s not done much of note since, despite Everton clawing their way up the table playing the Allardyce way. Football is never about one team, it’s an interactive thing between 2 sides, and that day we were by far the better side. We also deserved at least a point against United by virtue of our fairly solid defence and a few great attacking moves, and were denied twice by the best keeper in the world. On the other hand, Spurs were pretty clinical in despatching us on Boxing Day from the limited highlights I saw, and we weren’t very good at all.
I do agree though that sometimes we go a bit overboard on the negative aspects of how Saints are playing, and that there are always positives to take from any situation. If we’re in any position other than 17th after tomorrow I will certainly be reasonably happy!

Fair points Chilco, I just think both games we deserve huge credit, particularly the Everton game where we were under huge pressure to get a win.
The Spurs game we weren’t so bad, we didn’t pick up Kane for the first gold which was dumb and we had no luck with the wood work. We didn’t play great, but had the ball not hit the post in the first half that could have been very different.
I think we will draw tomorrow, and he rested some players for this game, such as Lemina and Gabbiadini
West Ham investigating abuse directed at Livermore from a 'fan' about his son who died a few years ago. What is the matter with people? Someone could do terrible things to me and I would still not bring up the death of a child in an argument. Hope the spectator gets banned...and Livermore avoids punishment for going for him.
I can't even fathom how they made that into a shoutable insult? What the hell is wrong with people?
Seems a little strange to me, not that I'm saying Livermore is lying, but they showed the footage of it on SSN last night and everyone in the crowd around the guy who said it were all laughing. If it was something about a dead baby you'd think at least a few of them would be looking disgusted. But then I guess it is football fans.
