If there is all that money sloshing about in China, I wouldn't blame Clattenburg for wanting to set himself up for life.

Which is why I think Tom's "highly doubt it" comment is a little short sighted. What do referees get paid? 70-80k a year??? (That's a guess).

He could go there for 2-3 years and get paid a fortune. He's 41 and once he's finished, he'll get a job on Sky or BT and a good book deal. Take the money Clutts.

Newcastle helped by the fact Spurs gave them £30m for Sissoko! And £25m for Wijnaldum.

It'll be interesting if they go a spending spree in January. They clearly don't need to, to get promoted (although when has a lack of "need" necessarily stopped football clubs), but they could use it to put down some early building blocks in getting their squad ready for the PL - whilst at the same time, blowing Brighton out of the water for the title.

I guess it was only a matter of time before Harry started discussing the Swansea job.

Yep I would.

Not sure why they didn't get the replacement lined up before now? Like everyone else does now. Yet another reason why Palace are staying up and Swansea are going down.

Suggests that they had no plans to sack him, and ultimately the decision was made purely on the basis of the West Ham hammering. Three very winnable festive period games for them, and the first result has made them decide to not let him oversee the other two.

Hull massively deserve that. But then us and Stoke both deserved our early 1-0 leads on Sky this week too...
